G was throwing little 4-5 yard passes to get to 18-21. C'mon dude. Did you even watch the game? SF hasn't trusted G all year. Their defense and ground game have been exemplary.I absolutely watched the game. I don't GAF what happened all season, we are talking about the first 3 quarters of the super bowl, Mahomes also had a terrible pick and a fumble he was lucky to recover. Mahomes had a great Q4 because the niners couldn't keep the offense and keep him off the field going mainly because Jimmy was terrible in Q4. Yeah, his stats vs the Saints were pretty good. 4 TDs, 1 INT and 349 yards. That was impressive. He's still an average QB on a team with a very talented defense. Like others said, it was clear that Shanahan didn't really trust him to throw the ball much though. Also, to be completely fair... Kittle screwed him by pushing off on his defender on that deep ball. That was a really good deep ball that would have given them a halftime lead and "maybe" changed the outcome of the game? Maybe. That was 100% on Kittle. That's where Shanahan messed up though. He had a running game that was getting a good number of chunk yards, and that was opening up the short routes for Jimmy. We went away from that, and then his offense couldn't stay on the field. It's almost identical to the ATL- Pats Superbowl(obviously bigger lead). But in that game he had a running game that was chewing the Pats up, he went away from it, offense couldn't stay on the field, allowed Pats to come back.(02-03-2020 11:16 AM)Seahawkhoops Wrote:(02-03-2020 11:13 AM)CG_Hawk06 Wrote:His other 2 great games were Vs. the Cards, So, I'll discount that a bit(02-03-2020 11:04 AM)Seahawkhoops Wrote:(02-03-2020 11:00 AM)CG_Hawk06 Wrote: That was my point. He wasn't a capable QB to win that game. He was average at best the first three quarters and terrible down the stretch. If they had a good QB, SF wins that game. That was my point. It wasn't 100% on the coaching. If I'm a Niners fan, that's what has me concerned is he clearly didn't learn from his past mistakes on the biggest stage. YES he was. But, Mahomes came up big when it counted that's really all that matters. He only had 219 yards on 31 throws, for a paltry 7.1 yards per attempt. Its easy to complete at a high % when you're dinking and dunking. I saw a couple nice intermediate throws but nothing special. Mahomes deserved the benefit of the doubt for having a crappy 3 quarters, especially since he finished the game like he had been doing all postseason. Not to mention he was going up against the NFL's top defense, which is of course why the spread was small and a lot of people picked SF in the first place. RE: 2019 NFL Regular Season - Seahawkhoops - 02-03-2020 12:49 PM Also, You are giving credit to Mahomes, who had a "Paltry" 6.80 per attempt, but knocking Jimmy for same stat with higher result. Did you think i wouldn't cross check your cherry pick? Did you think i wouldn't cross check your cherry pick? I already admitted it was hardly Pat's best game. But the point is he'd earned the benefit of the doubt. Jimmy G hadn't. And you're also not acknowledging the impact that SF had as the # 1 defense in the NFL. They did that to lot's of other elite QB's. Did you think i wouldn't cross check your cherry pick? So you can pick on Jimmy's 7 yards per attempt and ignore Mahomes which was less, because he's earned the benefit of the doubt? LOL. Also find a bit of irony that the JEts fan on the board is so critical of other teams QBs, most of whom are as good or better as anyone you have had in the last 20 years..... RE: 2019 NFL Regular Season - Seahawk Nation 08 - 03-05-2020 03:10 PM As we get closer to NFL free agency, it looks like Brandon Beane badly wants to bring back CB Tre'Davious White for the Bills: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001105275/article/bills-gm-hopes-to-get-deal-done-with-tredavious-white RE: 2019 NFL Regular Season - Gary Miller - 03-05-2020 03:33 PM (03-05-2020 03:10 PM)Seahawk Nation 08 Wrote: As we get closer to NFL free agency, it looks like Brandon Beane badly wants to bring back CB Tre'Davious White for the Bills: Bills should be good next season. We've got SOMETHING to talk about in the sports world other than our own coaching hire. He had a better chance of winning there than he would in say Tampa. RE: 2019 NFL Regular Season - Seahawk Nation 08 - 03-17-2020 08:32 AM (03-17-2020 08:27 AM)Seahawkhoops Wrote: Agree. We need something. Might not have been up to him. Kraft said he was going to leave the decision up to Belichick and Brady, and we all know Belichick strongly favors winning over sentiment. He may have just allowed Brady to be the one to make the statement that he was leaving so it didn't look like Belichick was the one moving on. |
