I don't GAF what happened all season, we are talking about the first 3 quarters of the super bowl, Mahomes also had a terrible pick and a fumble he was lucky to recover. Mahomes had a great Q4 because the niners couldn't keep the offense and keep him off the field going mainly because Jimmy was terrible in Q4.

Mahomes came through when it matters, that's really all that matters anyways. I'm happy for Andy Reid

That was my point. He wasn't a capable QB to win that game. He was average at best the first three quarters and terrible down the stretch. If they had a good QB, SF wins that game. That was my point. It wasn't 100% on the coaching.

I called this on here well before the game. Force Jimmy G to be the one to have to beat you and you beat SF. Which isn't easy b/c that means you need to get out in front of SF by multiple scores. They're defense all year and through most of the SB prevented that. Once it happened though, there's no way SF wins in a shootout... not with Jimmy G... EVER.

Average at Best isn't 18-21, sorry. And you are wrong again with the EVER comment, you forget the 48-46 win over the Saints? win a shootout rarely, sure. Not ever? Wrong again.

Yeah, his stats vs the Saints were pretty good. 4 TDs, 1 INT and 349 yards. That was impressive.

He's still an average QB on a team with a very talented defense. Like others said, it was clear that Shanahan didn't really trust him to throw the ball much though.

Also, to be completely fair... Kittle screwed him by pushing off on his defender on that deep ball. That was a really good deep ball that would have given them a halftime lead and "maybe" changed the outcome of the game? Maybe. That was 100% on Kittle.

He only had 219 yards on 31 throws, for a paltry 7.1 yards per attempt. Its easy to complete at a high % when you're dinking and dunking. I saw a couple nice intermediate throws but nothing special.

Mahomes deserved the benefit of the doubt for having a crappy 3 quarters, especially since he finished the game like he had been doing all postseason.

Not to mention he was going up against the NFL's top defense, which is of course why the spread was small and a lot of people picked SF in the first place.

You are cherry picking. That 7.1 was much higher on the 18-21 before he went 2 for his last 10.
