Milon Gone - Tribal - 03-20-2019 08:48 PM

How's everybody doing tonight? Who's ready for Knight?

William & Mary’s Matt Milon will explore a transfer, source told @Stadium. Averaged 13 per game and would be a grad transfer. Began his career at BC.

So do we think everyone is truly gone or just keeping all options open until a new coach is hired?

It is absolutely crazy to think where we were a month ago with everyone except for Paul coming back and now could be hardly anyone ... how is Huge gonna salvage this?

So beyond frustrating

It seems like people go for a coach, not the school.

This is incredible

They talk to each other. Their coach was dumped and they don't want to get caught with their pants down should the new coach seem less than desirable.

The key here is Tony wasn't abusive, nasty, or any of that. Some of you took that bait, hook, line, and sinker. 3 starters expressed their intention to look elsewhere AFTER Tony was fired. Let me tell you something else, either Huge has no replacement or her target doesn't move the needle for 3 players. If she fired Shaver with no replacement and 3 starters (for now...stay tuned) want out, we have a serious frickin problem in the front office.

Where are all the Shaver haters tonight? I know you've been on tonight. Go ahead, explain this away. Tell us you have faith in Huge and how Tony was the problem.

I don't know. I think the longer it goes, the more likely. I also think the right hire could bring most back to the fold. I'm not sure that we will get the right hire though. Transfers are par for the course with coaching changes, but the job has just gotten less attractive.

In John le Carre's latest thriller, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, A.D.," a mid-Atlantic university best known for azure poultry hatches a devious long-term plan to plant a deep-cover mole in the heart of a hated rival's athletic operations ...

Absolutely laughable.

Bring Shaver back, let those who were going to go, go, roll up the sleeves, re-build, and hand it over to Holmes at the appropriate time. Enough.

Do you really think Huge would do that? If her goal is hiring a new coach to springboard to P5, she makes herself look even more impotent by backtracking.

Milon Potentially Leaving - Tribal - 03-20-2019 09:22 PM

I agree with someone who said Knight will probably declare for the draft. Suspect he'll be a grad transfer if that doesn't work out. Who wants to pay his summer dues so he can graduate the July?

Maybe Loewe will hang in there.

Just for fun, who remembers when we thought a need for a PG transfer was our biggest concern? Remember that...two ridiculous weeks ago?

If the AD won’t do that, then someone above her needs to do that.

If I’m a D1 mid major AD looking for a coach, I immediately interview Shaver and ask him if I hire you then I have spots for any graduate transfers you may know interested.

RE: Milon Potentially Leaving - LeadBolt - 03-20-2019 09:41 PM

I've been tied up all day. Just sat down to unwind and started reading all this cr*p. Just what in the living h3ll has happened here?

Something unknown to me behind the scenes had to happen to generate the initial action. Presumably it was done to keep the team together and bring in a coach to take them to a higher level than they would have otherwise attained. I didn't like it one bit.

Now the players for whose benefit this was supposedly done to improve their lot are voting with their feet to get the blankety blank out of Dodge.

I'm hoping that this is the darkest hour just before dawn, when the sunrise starts a bright new summer day, but increasingly it is feeling like a cold damp day ushering in winter instead.

Would some one please reassure me that there is a cure around the corner that is going to expose me as an unnecessary worry wort being overly pessimistic?

Time for another bourbon. Come to think of it, is this just a ploy by VA ABC to increase sales among Tribe fans?

Ms. Huge had better pull the magic bunny out of her hat pronto. We can't wait until Easter.

As someone who works closely with VA ABC I can assure you they appreciate your increased support of fine spirits. (*please drink responsibly*)

If Knight can graduate or get an exemption he would probably be better served at a P5 school. When that happens, we can (maybe) welcome back returning starter Luke Loewe, for now...

Now is the time for President Rowe to intervene. This fiasco will cost us 3 potential starters and maybe more not to mention many loyal supporters threatening to cut their donations. I think this has reached a point where AD Huge cannot resolve this mess. Those of us who can reach President Rowe should do so before it is too late.
