As the season winds down there is more and more talk abut who is in and who is out. Since the conferences realigned the mid low major conferences have really struggled. That gap is not going to narrow any time soon, especially with some majors going to 20 game conference schedules.
With the new invention of the metric NET these are the teams that appear to be on the borderline. I will use quadrant wins from the NET rankings. I will use only Q1 and Q2 records as those are likely the only ones that matter. Unfortunately we are going to see a bunch of middling majors get the call...again
The bubble is approximately 25 spots with 34 teams from all conferences fighting for a bid. Realistically it comes down to about 5 or 6 teams for a couple of bids. This season is the season for middling power conference teams. I suspect we are going to see close to a handful of teams dancing with losing records in conference.
