After splitting it down the middle 28-28 (12-12) last year , here's to Coach Googins getting this team to a winning season this year in one of the tougher baseball conferences in the country .

A lot of turnover from last year's roster-- a lot of new faces, freshmen, JUCO and transfers from other schools (I think 18 total). We were picked to finish 8th in the conference in the preseason poll.

So much roster change it's impossible to predict 2019 performance. I purchased a season pass again this year to support the program. I was impressed with the coach last season. And it's a cheap way to spend a sunny afternoon at the ballpark with a hot pretzel and a cold beer.

UC gets swept by FAU. Relief pitching (lack of) cost them the last couple of games.

Looks like UC dropped 2 to FAU.
They lost their 2B, SS, 3B, C, CF, and Friday and Saturday SP. They also unfortunately had two incomers get drafted.
The good news is they had some freshmen who pitched pretty well in relief over the weekend. Two lefties and a 6'6" righty. And Schoenle and Kroger threw pretty well.
Heading south in February after practicing in a bubble all winter is tough. Hopefully they can take a series next weekend.

Got their first win of season today. Now 1-5. Ever the optimist, with some luck, they could be 5-1. Tough games coming up before home opener against Bowling Green in a couple weeks.

After a very rocky start, the Bearcat baseball squad has climbed up to a 9-14 record. Cats struggled to score early in the season but the bats have appeared to warm up of late. Today the Bearcats beat NKU 14-6.

UC got clobbered 19-4 by Tulane in game 1 of a DH today and are losing game 2 7-1.

The Bearcats down an Ohio State University last night 9-5. Cats move to 11-16 on the season. We've handled the Buckeyes several times over the last five years.

Down to Ohio State, or downed Ohio State? Edit. I looked it up. We beat Ohio State. The team seems to be bouncing back from a rough start to the season.

We're about to hit the tough stretch of the schedule. Say what you want about the AAC but it is a very good baseball conference, probably top 4 in the country. ECU is currently #11 in the country, UConn is #22, and Tulane, Houston, UCF, Wichita are always very good.
