Did McKay stiff Ewing? - NewTimes - 12-04-2018 04:55 PM

The LU vs. Georgetown game was surprisingly entertaining and more competitive than I expected. The Hoyas took a 2 point halftime lead and went up by 23 points in the second half. LU continued to play hard to whittle the lead and eventually lose by 10. A good and mostly close game.

At the game's end, when players and coaches were giving post game hand shakes and fist bumps, McKay walked right by Ewing. By Ewing's reaction, it seemed he was going to stop for a few seconds and praise McKay and the Flames effort. But McKay zipped on by.

Ewing was a monster in his prime. At one time, the preeminent big man in the game. He could do it all. His playoff games vs. Miami's Mourning were hard fought, had foul, tough guy games. One would have thought Ewing, willing to stop for a moment and congratulate an opposing coach, would have caused most all coaches to pause for a brief moment.. It's likely a small thing, that maybe never happened. But it caught my eye. And LU was playing Georgetown, and NBA great and HOF Patrick Ewing was the coach. It's probably nothing. Or is it?
