ODU comes into the game 5-3. Only mutual opponent so far is St. Joe...They lost by 15. They beat VCU by 10 and Madison by 25.
We'll need a complete game to win this win in Norfolk. Looks like its broadcast on ESPN+.

Strangely enough, one of the reasons that I am optimistic long-term is that I am pessimistic shot-term.
I’m not sure we are ready for an away win yet. Hopefully we are competitive and some aspect of our game shows improvement.

ODU maniacal about this game...we've beaten them five of the last six games and they fully expect a huge win this week.
I'm not sure at all our young team is ready to beat them at ODU but a Tribe victory would send their fandom into a frenzy.

I don't know why we aren't ready. We beat a very good St. Joe's team. We've had key injuries and now it appears that we're over that. I expect a very strong showing tomorrow and this weekend. I expect a decent match up with UVA also. We need to understand that the OOC schedule this year was a very different set of games from last season. We should be ready to play in the CAA, and I don't see a lot of teams that match up well with Pierce and Knight. Charleston will give us fits with their guards.

For some of us, this game is as important as the VCU game.
Last year's loss was devastating psychologically.
We will certainly be up for this one, but you have a well coached team. We will need to solve for your outside shooting in general, and Nathan Knight specifically, or we will be in for a long evening.

ODU is the next game of the rest of the season.
They will be motivated as they have lost 5 of the last 6 to W&M, including last year's back breaker. We've played the only common opponent better than they did, but we all know transference ends up in the trash, more times than not.
If we come in at a high energy level and can avoid silly turnovers and fouls, I see no reason that they won't continue to be our *****

Formula is simple.
Turnovers down + assists up = Win
Anything less and we will have to have a Herculean night from Pierce or Knight and shoot relatively well. Otherwise we will be talking about the loss in terms of a learning experience. I'd like this team to consistently put a level performance together rather than lulls and teases.
