It happens every day in the business world as well.
New person comes in & is put in charge.
People that work for new person don't agree with everything he/she does.
New person removes the situation.

They got her to leave softball by giving her a promotion, and then deleted her position a year later. Dirty pool.

There you go. Let’s put the football program in jeopardy again. I’m sure that is what Coach Townsend would want you do. For diehard football fans, people are constantly looking to cut off their support.

I said it on FB, and I'll say it again here. Refusing to honor your pledge or cutting off donations is counterproductive. All that does is hurt UAB Athletics as a whole. Call or write and express your displeasure, raise all sorts of cain? Sure, go for it.
Personally, I think we need to start the Marla Townsend Softball Scholarship Fund, and start collecting money for it. They pretty well can't turn the money down, and it will be an effective finger in the eye to the administration.
Eyes on the prize. Hurting the program really isn't going to worry Watts much, and frankly I'm not convinced that Ingram is committed to improving the programs he theoretically is in charge of.
He just shot himself in the foot with a twelve gauge either way.

Bad Decision. But unless the big $ folk raise a stink... nothing will happen. He is just making himself unwanted... may even get booed at public events, that’s about it.

If they had stones they would ask him about this.
Instead though he will be asked about what he thinks about Alabama's chances this coming season.

I know I'm in the minority but I'm willing to give Mark some latitude on this one.

100% correct. To truly gain the upper hand, we have to increase our donations on the academic side also. losing financial donations for athletics is what they want, losing financial donations for academics will cause them pain.

You aren't going to get an answer from him even if they did ask...nor should you. I would be very unhappy if he went into details with the media regarding personnel issues. That's a pretty blatant PR issue.
