"Speaking of UNCW fans, we asked Coach Keatts if there is any possibility of a matchup between the wolfpack and the seahawks. Keatts said anything is possible in the future."

I hope we're not that desperate.

RE: Kevin Keatts returns to Wilmington - UNCWin - 05-28-2018 05:10 PM

I know there's a lot of different opinions on Keatts, but would y'all boo him if he came? I would like to think we're a very classy and passionate fanbase (which we are) but I know there are some fans that would boo him if they got the slightest chance at a game

Not me. Keatts got UNCW back into the game, and UNCW gave Keatts the platform he wanted to move on. A symbiotic relationship if I ever saw one.

I’d boo him for sure, what he did while he was here was great what he did after leaving was bush league. Bronx cheer

He took Bryce. Bryce was leaving regardless. It sucked. Booing him would be ridiculous and Bush league.

Call me Switzerland. I'm neutral. Keatts is just another coach now.

He did more than just take CJ(which is bush league in itself), dig around a little bit.

UNCwin asked opinions i gave it. Not going to say anymore here as to turn this into another pissing thread. I have my reasons just as you have yours.

I would be open to a series with NC State if they'd be willing to come to Trask. However, it needs to wait at least 3 or 4 years. Let Bryce finish his college career, and any Keatts players on our roster do the same. Ultimately, from a program standpoint we need these P5 non-conference home games. It's a great card to have on the recruiting trail. Obviously there are plenty of options out there but NC State is logical.

Desperate? I’d love to play as many P5 teams as possible. Ability to get big time games like that only help the program.

It's rather easy to schedule a P5 non-conference opponent when they just pay you to play them at their house, so if that's what we were doing with NC State then I wouldn't like that. The "anything is possible" quote from Keatts sounds rather bleak, IMO. Keatts has never been one to schedule a tough non-conference slate, I can't imagine he'd take the risk of bringing one of his teams to Trask.

I honestly don't think he has the ballz to do it, especially is CB gets us on track.

Yes, so if you want to balance the budget and get great experience for your team, why not? We make more money going there than we do playing a home game against D1 competition or, worse, paying a lower division team to come to Trask. It’s a win-win situation.

Last year at a surprisingly good LSU, we were a first half suspension of 2 starters away from stealing a win and getting paid to do it.

I'm with SN08. Don't care either way. Not looking forward to any sort of matchup, and not going to piss on it either.

Good discussion thus far, keep 'er classy and we're good.

I don't disagree with any of this, but my point is I'd rather we play a "pay game" against an LSU, Clemson, or Georgetown type program than NC State. If we play them they need to come to Trask too. It's two hours down the road, Bass has State ties, and it's the least Keatts can do at this point. So I wouldn't want to play a pay game with them. Just my opinion.

After losing to UNCG this year (at home), I just don't see NCSU scheduling us. Keatts didn't schedule strong non-conference foes while here, and he has less incentive to do so in the ACC. He's being a politician with his "anything is possible in the future" comment; they're not scheduling us and they're certainly not coming to Trask and I'm fine with it.

I don't see Keatts bringing State to Wilmington,so why bother ? Go get the Carolina money when you can and they will be at Trask,so there is that. It will be the hottest ticket in the history of Trask/UNCW basketball. At my age I don't think booing anybody is worth the effort much less a scumbag like Keatts. The only good thing about it would be seeing Hunter Henderson back in his home town .

I think Claflin may have to head to Raleigh for a money game!

Sounds about like a Keatts comment.
