Nick Robinson transfer - Shooters - 04-17-2018 08:31 PM

Memphis TE Nick Robinson is transferring now that spring practice is over. He flashed often in scout team work. Will be a weapon in someone's pass game in the future.
Wasn’t he a 4 Star recruit? Anyone know what happened?

Joey Magnifico, Sean Dykes and Tyce Daniel are ahead of him on the depth chart. Tyce Daniel had a really good spring and moved ahead of him.

Joey and Dykes are two studs. Can’t blame Nick for wanting to play.

I called Magnifico being a player when he walked on. Saw him in HS and was surprised he didn’t get more looks. Caught everything!

I’m hard on players that transfer from the Tigers but in this case when you have two stud TEs and you won’t play, let the kid transfer and get some time. Another highly rated kid coming in this winter. No win situation for Nick.

Yep. Not too long ago we would fawn over the one or two 3 star recruits we had. Nice change.

I think Robinson got caught not having a true position. Maybe a little bit too big to be a wide receiver and not big enough to be a true tight end. Plus our tight ends are amazing and both have two more years left. The only thing that is a shame is that Norvell used a lot of two tight end sets at Arizona State, and every single tight end that has come through with Norvell as our coach has improved by leaps and bounds.
Maybe Robinson peaked in high school, maybe he just isn't patient, but I am 100% confident that Norvell would have gotten the most out of him if he would have stayed.

Good kid, just a numbers game...too many players ahead of him on the depth chart. He wants to play not sit, so he is transferring to another school that will also give him a free education but is not stacked at the TE position. Probably the Big12.

Last year's #3 TE Ross Burcham left the team after the season. He was a walk-on, but definitely had potential. Not sure what happened, but he was same year as Magnifico and Dykes - rising Juniors.
