I'm kind of looking forward to a time where the big clubs have more security in getting into CL.

I'm more of an EPL fan and it's great that they have 4 guaranteed spots, but there's probably about 6 or 7 clubs in that league that could compete in CL on a regular basis. Some of the other leagues have about that many too.

I don't really want to squash the little guy, but I'd rather watch the higher quality teams compete in the tournament rather than so many champs from lesser leagues getting automatic entry.

They didn't take away any of the automatic group stage places for teams in the leagues ranked 5-10. I think that to get the 4-team group stage guarantee for the top 4 leagues, they just took away some of the play-in spots for group stage, meaning that teams from lower-ranked leagues trying to qualify into group stage will have to win an extra tie. That will mostly squeeze the champs of leagues that are just outside the top 10.
