On the uniforms—I like the green-on-green. It does hearken back to the “Big Green Team” of yore, as referenced in the lyrics of the fight song.
Other than that, the remaining design elements are “meh.” The new logo still looks bad on the helmet. “TRIBE” down the leg is a cluttered gimmick.
And it’s a message board, so I might as well say it. I’ve never been a fan of the Vegas gold, and would love to see a return to yellow-gold. They could test it as an alternate uniform and I guarantee it would be a hit. The team wore yellow-gold until the 70s and possibly 80s, which is well before my time but looks GREAT from the pictures. As a contemporary example of how this works, the university of Pittsburgh recently switched from Vegas gold back to its classic yellow-tone gold, they look sharp.

The Vegas/WM Gold looked good on the old Nike unis with the old Tribe logo. Im not crazy about it here, but its really just (as you say) the execution of the other design elements that ruins these. The Green on Green is classic and want to continue it, but they could do a better job.
Ditto on the Spirit Gold. Baylor does it right.
