I like these uniforms a lot. Big fan of the design. Never liked the gold pants but maybe we will still have some. Not sure. The numbers do seem a little too small though. Good change in my mind.

In case anyone wants to order Coach Marion’s new book coming out in August about his Go Go offense, here ya go. It’s pretty amazing that our OC actually has a book coming out about his offense. Hopefully it’ll be fun to watch. Certainly is getting publicity.

Nothing like exposing your offensive schemes to your opposing coaches....03-banghead

You would be absolutely correct on my slipup, and nope, haven’t been hanging with Bubba :). ... no clue why I slipped up that way but thanks so much for that catch!

No clue on the names. I'd guess the names stay. Very busy, compared to our very simple look before, but I think I like it. Like basketball - Tribe on home jerseys and William & Mary on the aways.

White is ok...looks similar to old St Louis Rams kit.

Not a fan of the green ones at all...which I assume is the home jersey (says Tribe). Overall, this kit would be destroyed on ESPNs Uni-watch. So generic looking. Classic stripe/piping is much more attractive...reminds me of a Highschool uni. This has been a problem with all of our sports UA jerseys. I know they have better options from other schools who use them. Agree on bleh narrow numbers, too small of a logo on the chest and still no fix for the helmet decal.

I don't disagree with your take, I don't mind them though. The Rams were the 1st thing that came to my mind as well on the aways.

I think the issue comes from going from a simple, traditional style uniform to a busier modern style uniform. Not that it is unattractive- just different and a change from what we are used to. Kind of like going from the traditional Laycock offense to Marion's Go-Go.

Just monitoring social media, I'd say the reaction is overwhelmingly positive towards them. Players and recruits are excited by the look. Speaks to the generational differences in what people like in a uniform.

RE: 2019 Football - bubbadog57 - 06-22-2019 08:40 AM

The all-green uniform is the traditional W&M uniform dating back to the late 1930s and was worn by the wonderful William and Mary squads of the late Thirties and the 1940s...and continued to be worn at home games into the 1970s. Jimmye had them worn for Homecomings and for big home games right through last season.

The team was known as "The Big Green" , along with Indians, into the 1960s. The Flathat regularly used Big Green in headlines abd stories.

I like the traditional green uniforms and am pleased that Coach London, who is a traditionalist, is retaining that memorable look.

No green pants here. Anyone have old photos/videos of the "big green" teams?

I wouldn't be surprised if they incorporate different pants in sooner or later. Also, perhaps an alternate uni or helmet for special games. This is the popular thing nowadays.

RE: 2019 Football - TDenverFan - 06-22-2019 09:10 AM

Only thing I dont like is the vertical Tribe down the pants

2019 Football - Tribal - 06-22-2019 09:19 AM

Should've gone with a green-white zebra pattern to confuse defenders.

This is probably accurate. I'd think we'd start to see alternate uniforms in the next year or so. Let's remember that with the Under Armour switch from Nike we had to buy two sets of jerseys this year as opposed to probably alternating home and away new sets each season. Further a full new set of pants had to be purchased, rather than fill ins. Additionally, practice gear and coaches gear. Nike cannot be seen anymore. We have a good UA deal I'm sure but the unis aren't free. Not so sure about us ever doing alternate helmets but maybe....there is a huge cost there and some teams - and all of the NFL in the last couple of years - have gone away from it due to concussion concerns.

As for the names on the back of the jerseys, they don't come from the manufacturer that way - it is usually done by the equipment staff and may still be waiting to be done before the season. I don't know for certain whether they will be on or not but just speculating as to why they aren't now.

As for thoughts on them....they are OK. I'm not a big fan of the jersey numbers being thin either and it appears only the away set has numbers on the sleeves which is a little strange to me but otherwise they are ok. I do like how silver has been incorporated into the home jerseys.

Good to see Nick Muse like a team workout video. He is no longer following Brady, but has started following South Carolina accounts, as well as UConn and UMass. Again, unless he gets a solid landing spot at an ACC or SEC program, I would hope he stays home. Since, per rules, he could not transfer after next season with only one year of eligibility (unless he graduated early), this will hopefully have just been using the new transfer portal to assure he did not miss a promising P5 opportunity. Don't see playing 2 years at ECU and foregoing a W&M degree as a better trade. We have put our share of players in the NFL.

Nick Muse to South Carolina, per his twitter.

"There were several small problems, other than football. There was almost nothing wrong with the football. We got a new staff, they were great. Everybody on the team is basically my brother," Muse said of his decision to leave William & Mary. "It had nothing to do with football."

Heck of a player. He's already removed from the roster.

Need Pitts and Klaus to seize the opportunity.

Really good receiver but was always an awful blocker which led us to basically tipping our hand as to whether we were running or passing. He’s going to have to work harder at that part of his game. And get a lot stronger. But no doubt he’s a top notch talent and a loss for this team.
