Not sure why he played his freshman year at Golden West College, then transferred within the California CC system. Rutgers and Columbia showing interest. Acitelli now following, also.

It's an avenue we haven't normally seen in the football program, but we don't know his academic credentials to assume the fit isn't there. There must be a strong academic record if Columbia, also, showing interest.

Strongest interest seems to be from UNLV and Liberty

Unfortunately, nothing new in that article. The London quotes are exactly the same ones he used in his intro presser. I wonder if O'Conner just used some old quotes from his notebook rather than interview him fresh (of course, if it was a fresh interview then the lack of anything new to say is even worse).

Kids are transferring to W&M from community colleges every year. If you maintain a 3.5 in the Virginia system you're guaranteed admission. They do just fine.

Until proven otherwise, I trust Coach London and staff to recruit players who can "hack it" academically at W&M. I'd especially love if that means there is a door opening for "non-traditional" W&M students.

Add another. 6'2 Safety from California. Offers from BYU, Harvard, Cal Poly, Army, et al.

More and more pressure on previously offered kids to commit before someone else takes their scholarship. [Image: 035bcdbed0a9b49f67a9db1559fb54b5.jpg]

What exactly is a "non-traditional" student?

Not what you are thinking. Ha ha

A non-traditional student is someone who transfers to W&M, starts school later (maybe a student making use of a GI Bill), or has some qualified circumstance that allows them to be part-time undergraduate students.

Straight out of HS, type A, high achiever. There are plenty of smart, successful individuals who don't fill that mold and I'd love to see W&M put more effort into courting them.

I think you mean "NOT straight out..."

"Non-traditional student" is actually a thing at W&M. I know the admission office used to place great emphasis on giving CC students a chance. Getting off track now, but there's a process in place whereby a kid who earned an Associate's degree from a VA CC was guaranteed Junior status. I guess now, they're even guaranteed admission if they meet certain established milestones. It's actually a smart play...2 years of instate CC tuition and live at home, then transfer to W&M and earn the same degree as 4-yr students. Knock out the most difficult foundation courses at a CC to boot.

6'3, 287 OG/OT anchoring a championship squad out of NJ. Quick for his size.

Some school I've not heard of and Morgan State offered.

It was common for W&M to offer ex-military "non-traditional" players many moons ago.

Military veterans out of the Korean War who played at W&M include Bob Lusk, Charlie Sidwell,
Brown Oliver, Walt Brodie, etc.

Most of the coaching staff following TX DL Hayden Brockenbush. Usually Indicates a high priority kid.

Big push in our final week before early commitments.

RE: 2019 Football Recruiting - Tribeheart - 12-11-2018 05:58 PM

Another Pittsburgh offer:
AJ Beatty, 6'5" 250lb DE/TE/LS.

Oops. He's 2020.
You are the magician, Tribal....

Air Force and SFA are the only comparable offers that I see. SFA is much closer to home and generally plays competitive ball.

Scratch him off the list. He just committed to Army

2019 Football Recruiting - Tribal - 12-11-2018 08:23 PM

That'll happen when we offer a kid so late in the game. He had to have written his commitment letter within an hour of us offering him.
