Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Houston Cougars Game Thread - eroc - 02-12-2018 09:48 AM

Was going to wait for UCGrad1992 but it looks Rob Gray is already thinking about Thursday:

We are going to get every team's "best shot" going down the stretch and I trust Mick and the team to know it.

If Houston needs an additional "reason" to prepare (i.e. "Payback") for a top 5 ranked team (yes, I am assuming here) and the Conference Leader, then so be it. As for UC, we're running down the stretch of a dream season...I would hope we need no additional motivation to play well at Houston.

No problemo eroc! I don't have the game thread market cornered. I'll still post my usual stuff here as the game approaches.

BTW, "payback" huh? You can't payback something that was taken from your tiny, dish soap softened, girly "kung-foo grip" fingers. Damn't I'm pissed now. I hope we throttle these dudes on Thursday.

agree 100%. We are going to be the only team that commands "Court Storming" status in the AAC. Four of our remaining games are on national TV. Both Wichita games, UConn and Tulane. Surprisingly, Houston is not one of them but our effing Senior night against Tulsa is also CBS Network. WTF.

How long does the AAC have on contract with CBSSN?

RE: Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Houston Cougars Game Thread - rath v2.0 - 02-12-2018 10:48 AM

2 years I believe. It’s not a direct agreement with CBSSN...it’s the ESPN deal and they have the right to spin off games that they do not pick up.

"Has anyone seen my bun?"

You're gonna need it Shades of Gray. Last game against UC: 9 points.

I know I am in the minority, but I LOVE CBS Sports Network. Anything that keeps games off of ESPN3.

Just a hunch, but in two years when our current AAC media deal with AAC is up I would bet that CBS Sports will still have a part of the deal (except for this time they will be paying a share of it to the conference instead of buying the content from ESPN).

Like Bruce above, I actually enjoy the CBS Sports coverage. They treat UC very well on that network and the production is usually very good. The only problem for us as fans is that many of us have to buy a higher tier of cable to get the channel (I realize this does not apply to all and that others have cut the cord).

Better than the deuce by far. I have always felt this way. Wish all Bearcat fans had the access. It originally was not on my direct tv package, but the cost of bdubs trips and the loss of productivity(beer) more than made up for the extra cost.

That's how I justified it to my wife as well. I had to upgrade DirectTV by $10/month; much cheaper than driving over to the local watering hole for some wings and a beverage or two a couple times a month.

It's a shame they could not have stayed in texas after the smu game. A lot of travel to the same area that close together.

Exactly, I was spending 25-30 bucks every trip during the week. 04-cheers

I really like Rob Gray. He's one of the best players in our league and has almost singlehandedly lifted Houston back to relevance. Wish there were a few more players like him in the American.

RE: Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Houston Cougars Game Thread - payday - 02-12-2018 01:53 PM

Three full days between games. They should be well rested. Especially after the SMU scrimmage.

This will be their toughest game since @XU. Q1 game. Time to silence the naysayers

Are the Cats staying in Texas all week like they did for the Florida swing? I would hope they are.

Winning at Houston won't do anything for that.
