In conjunction with the broadcast rights agreement, UAB is also entrenched as the host through 2022.

It's still a lot of work for people in the athletic department...maybe even moreso with the remote location.

I think we wouldn't make too much off of it & probably would even lose some with it.
It is good for recognition purposes though.

We have been hosting. GULF place is currently under renovation and the area will look a lot different in April. It’s one of our projects. ;-). The guy that runs the Hangout along with the municipalities are footing the bill.
I won’t be surprised if the new convention center along with the city puts out bids to host some conference media days in the future for several leagues.

UAB has hosted every college Beach Volleyball championship since the sport was approved as an emerging sport for Title IX purposes, even prior to NCAA sanctioning.
This is nothing new other than ESPN being involved instead of Turner Sports.
