Troy obviously has the better resume.
But a loss to #53 Navy and #88 Buffalo (both of whom were bowl-eligible) are not as bad as a loss to #116 South Alabama.
Besides the win over LSU, Troy's best win is #66 North Texas (who we beat by a larger margin twice), #79 Arkansas State, and #86 Akron (who we beat by a larger margin). All of your other wins are over those ranked in the bottom 30 (and many of those wins are by fewer than a touchdown).
While we may not have a signature win, Florida Atlantic obviously has the overall better resume.
Disagree. Cusa outside of you guys is VERY weak weaker than either Troy App and stAte. Look to your bowl season and see the results.
Take away UNTs garbage TD they got in the final minute of the game and it’s a wash as to who beat who worse.

Okay, so your #1 Troy beat our #2 North Texas, but our #9 Middle Tennessee beat your #3 Arkansas State. And your #5 Georgia State beat our #10 Western Kentucky.
And Franklin dropped the ball at the 1-yard line short of a touchdown and was ruled a fumble. We should've beaten them by an even wider margin. So, we still would've beat them worse than y'all.

Massey has Troy's SoS ranked #118 and Florida Atlantic's ranked #88. I'm not sure 6 wins (and 1 loss) over bottom 30 ranked Sun Belt teams will do you favors. (Florida Atlantic has only 2 wins over bottom 30 ranked CUSA teams.)
Undeniably was overdoing it, but I think Troy's is still better. Beating LSU was a far better win than any of FAUs. No blowout losses, like the 23 point loss to a 7-6 Navy team. FAU has more blowout wins though, which may help them.

I think Navy's blowout bowl win over Virginia shows how good of a team they actually are (and should help our case). And while we don't have a signature win, besides our 5-point win over Marshall, all of our other wins are by a margin of 2 or more touchdowns.

We can play that back and forth all day too if we didn’t fumble a snap for 6 points
FAU and Troy would be a good game that could easily go either way. But I feel our LSU win puts us slightly over FAU in terms of ranking resumes

It's debatable which team is better of course, but should we really be comparing results of a team under a first year coach (and which just implemented a radically new offensive system) with those of a team in their third year under their coach? FAU looked nothing like the same team and offense later in the year like they did in their first few games (especially against Navy).

I cannot in good conscience rank a team that almost lost to this Arkansas State team. Sorry Troy.
Besides, they'll rank FAU before you because of the coach anyway.

I'd love to see either of them ranked, Troy especially, because of what it would mean as far as willingness to recognize good teams in our conferences. Honestly difficult to say either one has the resume to be top 25 in the country, though. The storm just isn't quite perfect enough for either.
