The ladies won 1-0 against #7 Michigan in Ann Arbor tonight. After a season opening loss to #2 Duke, it's been four straight wins. I figured given the big win tonight, their own thread was in order. Congratulations ladies!

Ladies did it again today...second win in less than 24 hours....defeated University of California-Davis, 4-2
at Michigan field to raise record to 5-1. Should be ranked in Top 25 next week.
One of the best W&M field hockey weekends in ages.

Only loss is to #4 overall Duke (they were #2 at the time).
Big back-to-back tests coming up vs. #5 UVA and #10 Boston College on 9/15 and 9/17.

Team won third in a row this afternoon at home, 3-1 over Northeastern. Now 8-4 for season and 2-0
in the CAA. Should easily retain our #19 national ranking with wins today and last Thursday (3-0
over Hofstra).
Who would have predicted these ladies would be this good?

They've had at least couple years of good recruiting. And they've been drawing at least 400 for home games. This team is on the rise for sure.

Team won fourth in a row, 3-1 on the road at Towson last evening. Now 9-4 on season with perfect 3-0
in the CAA.
Play home Sunday afternoon against Davidson.

Our field hockey team won their fifth consecutively this afternoon here at home, defeating Davidson,
5-2...running their record to 10-4 (3-0 in CAA). Wins today and this past Thursday may move the ladies up a rung or two from their current #18 in the nation's top twenty.
Strong recruiting this year and last, including three players that were on high school All-American teams,
have boosted this program to where it's the surprise W&M team of the fall.

Our head coach was the US U21 National Team coach. Finally some of the recruits noticed? Now if only the other Ellis would have a retirement plan in a few years...
