I though a player could only be franchised twice by the same team

They gotta pay him next year or lose him.

Yeah, Washington could tag Cousins again in 2018 if they really want to, but that would be the last time. Almost seems as if they would trade him if they get a high price, but play him this year and maybe next if no team makes a big enough offer. Maybe they're hoping that a decent team whose QBs are not getting the job done (such as Denver) will ante up if their QBs fall short again this year.

Bruce Allen's video explanation of the offer to Cousins -- he calls Cousins "Kurt" five times in the video -- looks like one of the old media appearances of late-stage Al Davis. Guess ol' Bruce learned something in all those years that he worked for Al.

Interesting stuff with him.

Unless Philip Rivers makes it, which seems unlikely, Tomlinson will probably be the last San Diego Charger to make the football Hall.

Warner is likely the last Ram from their 20 years in St. Louis who will get in.

Not sure if any other Oakland Raiders will make it. Plunkett and Flores are possible, though they won one Super Bowl in Oakland and one in LA. Maybe each counts as half. It would be a big surprise if Cliff Branch (who was also on the LA Super Bowl team) or any other Oakland player not already in made it.

The Chargers lack of playoff wins really does hurt Tomlinson and Rivers IMO.

Warner and the Greatest Show on Turf was a thing of beauty. He'd have two more rings if not for Vintieri and his special teams allowing that Pittsburgh TD when he was with the Cards. Especially considering he was Arena League and 2nd fiddle to Trent Green in StL till he went down... just an incredible story all around. I think if he had of stayed with the Cards they would have gotten back one more time before he would have retired.

Dallas pulled it out... the game was actually entertaining.

My Dolphins made a QB upgrade. There's a possibility Tannehill has played his last game as a Dolphin, kinda weird to think about.

Cutler... LOL... ask the Bears how that worked for them...

Zeke suspended for 6 games. What evidence did the NFL find that the law couldn't?

Does Stephen Ross know about this?

Most likely a PR move in case something goes sideways with his case...

Don't care, but this Giants fan loves every bit of it. 1st game of the season: Giants @ Cowboys

Jags don't love them some CUSA/AAC qbs....

Cut ECU's David Garrard a while back and now it seems they want to dump Bortles.

Everyone is jumping ship out of Buffalo it seems.....

Not sure how good or bad this might before Zay Jones.

I'm really liking what I have seen out of the Browns tonight versus the Giants...granted the Giants have sucked all preseason.

RE: 2017-18 NFL Thread - Wedge - 09-01-2017 04:34 PM

Browns cut Lossweiler today. He'll probably be the biggest name cut, though not the best player cut.

He's been a bust since Denver booted him.
