YouTube just expanded into 17 new markets! If you're in NC (like me) they are now an option in Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro. They have much of the NC population covered.

Except the eastern part of the state. We always get overlooked

Yeah. I didn't know how south of Fayetteville and east of Rocky Mount would fair. Also, Ashville probably is still waiting. But this is why I said much and not all. They have the major population centers covered...I throw Greensboro in there but it's mostly Raleigh and Charlotte.

YouTube is only available for secondary screens, though. I think that is what I read.

I was just lamenting the lowly media status of the Eastern part of the state. We get royally jipped by being excluded from the Braves territory and as a result we don't have a local team to watch on a regular basis, unless you have satellite.

For anyone looking to truly cut the cord, there is an antenna on sale on Amazon. The Mohu Leaf Metro Antenna is listed at $15, down from its usual $20 price point. Works best in more urban areas. Range is listed at around 12 miles.

Really? Just after I canceled my free trial. Should have went with Hulu first.

I realize that this may not have wide appeal, but the NAIA & Stretch Internet just released a new app for AppleTV, AndroidTV and FireTV that will allow OTT streaming of any game streamed through Stretch Internet. And that's about 75% of all NAIA programs.

http://www.naia.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27900&ATCLID=211664409&_ga=2.157803065.2080472307.1504195985-833558919.1439918806

To me, this is a very big deal. No more tablet or notebook viewing, or casting.

Quality of the stream (and the talent) varies greatly, from fair to excellent, depending on what resources the college has available. Some broadcasts are "Premium" content, costing (usually) less than $10. Many of the broadcasts are student managed. But that was the case before OTT too, not really an OTT issue, just setting your expectations if you decide to tune in.

I watched part of the Idaho State game on Pluto, quality was not great, but it was better than not having it at all. Pluto is really going to be good for Big Sky fans.

Slightly off topic but Sling and FS1 are having a little argument.

You could previously watch the Big 10 network using Sling by going through FS1. Now Sling is blacking it out.

All the other major services carry BTN. This may be nothing or a continuation of ABC vs Fox properties.

Not BTN, Big Ten games that are being shown on FS1. Apparently, FS1 requires carriers to pay a higher rate if they want to show the Big Ten games being aired on FS1 and Sling declined.

BTN is a completely separate network. Sling does not carry BTN either. I guess Sling doesn't like the Big Ten.
