But it's basketball only so does that make them a P 5-1/2?

It's all sports, just not football.

Can we add Missouri State for baseball only?

I wish sports writers would man up and name their sources.

The domino effect of this is going to be huge! No telling how many teams the MVC will pluck from C-USA!

Gotta wonder what football boosters are thinking.

this is an extremely short-sighted decision by the AAC, IMHO. For Wichita, it's a great move though.

I thought the road to the AAC was through CUSA?

It helps make up for Navy football only. It is a hell of a deal for Witchita though, they upgrade their league while not even having to add football.

It's a great move by both sides. For the AAC it adds a school who always goes to the NCAA tournament and who can bring tournament units to the conference which means more money. For Witchita State it places them in a higher RPI conference with great basketball and baseball programs. It's a win-win all around.

The question is what does the MVC do? The league will now only have 9 schools in its basketball league. It could stand at 9 or add one to go back to 10. Heck, it might even try to swell to 12 in one move. Whatever happens, only 2 schools in the SBC would be potential candidates, Little Rock and UTA. If both are offered, do they go? If they go, I see the SBC not filling in with anyone and staying at 10 full conference members.

Makes it easier to travel. Go to Wichita with your Tulsa trip. Either pair SMU/Houston and Tulane/Memphis or Tulane/Houston and Memphis/SMU.

Tulsa, Houston, Memphis, and Cincinnati all had stints in the Valley with Wichita.

Gets them to 12 in most sports without adding a team that hurts football.

I agree. UALR should take it if possible, and UTA should take it if they don't have a pipe dream of bringing back football.

So if the Shockers are serious about adding football that could open up a hole in the AAC to fill. This move could be huge down the road for UMASS.

AAC is still a G5 conference.

I know a GaSo education isn't worth much...but i'm guessing you didn't notice the NO FOOTBALL part.

Wichita's interest in football was based on being more attractive to the AAC or MWC. If AAC wants them without football to get to 12/12 bet they don't add football

NDSU's beat Writer mentioned that if Wichita State was to leave the Valley he expects they would call UTA as a potential replacement.

Not sure that move happens because UTA would have to admit they don't plan on starting football.

Valley can provide an FCS home.

I get the potential interest from the Valley, I wonder if UTA would go from three easy and two more functional bus trips to having the nearest team be in Springfield, Mo.
