Austin Shaver now following two more players:

6’8” Nate Presnell from Hiram, GA. He’s also the starting QB on the football team and is drawing interest from schools on that end as well. In April took an unofficial to Mercer for basketball and then the next day to Troy for football.

Eric Coleman Jr. (6’6” 200lbs - Alpharetta, GA). Offers from Lipscomb, Mercer, Troy, Canisius, Western Carolina, and Kennesaw State.

Juniors
2. Milon
3. Knight
4. Pierce
5. Van Vliet

Sophs
6. Williams
7. Loewe

Frosh
8. Harvey
9. Scott
10. Audige
11. Owens
12. Blair

When Paul graduates this next year, we will be at 11 scholarships. D1 programs are allowed 13, so we should have 2 to play with. I believe that they have the luxury of an extra scholarship this next season to use on a grad transfer or just pass it along to the next year.

Or give it to Mostafa!!!

Julian Boatner already getting busy following recruits now that he’s changed his profile to reflect his new position. Besides following Jake van der Heijden and his coaches (previously followed by Austin Shaver) he also started following these players as well as their respective coaches:

F Nicholas Evtimov (6’7” 220lbs - Lewisville, NC). He holds offers from Towson, Campbell, Lehigh, Iona, Bucknell, Appalachian State, and Colgate.

Robbie Beran liked WMTribeMBB’s tweet about hiring Boatner and then liked Boatner’s tweet (they’ve been following each other for a while it seems).

RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting - Tribeheart - 05-17-2018 09:16 AM

Maybe while we're visible in Orange County, CA, Mehkel can bring his 2019 AAU teammate, 6'7" wing Solomon Davis, with him. 4.0 gpa, offers from Penn, Columbia. Game reminds me of Justin. Knockdown shooter in Tribe tradition, plus he could add to the team hair style points.

Austin now following Kyle Young (6’9” 240lbs - Bethlehem, PA). He holds offers from Siena, Mount St. Mary’s, Marist, American, and Lafayette. Pretty sure he is the younger brother of 2018 target and Northwestern commit Ryan Young.

Summer highlights (back when he was only 6’7”):

I assume he is Tribe 2018 recruit Ryan Young's younger brother. Bet they've had some tough backyard game battles.

I curious of the opinions of the cognoscenti as to what positions on the floor we should be most concerned with filling in 2019. The only player we will lose that year is Rowley, and we have two scholarships to give. We have a 2018 recruit for every position, but we lose three key positions in 2020. Best athlete? Best scorer? Best defender? Best wingspan? Best hairstyle? What's your wishlist?

If I had my druthers, I don't think you can ever have enough Big men or Point guards! As we stand right now, we have scorers in the guard and small forward positions.

RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting - Tribeheart - 05-17-2018 11:12 AM

My 2019 dream team to up the ante would still be Robbie Beran and Tyler Bertram. If indeed Beran is pushing 6'10" and still growing, then he brings the flexibility to play the wing and fill in the post, as needed. Bertram would continue the stellar 3 pt shooting, and would be versatile enough to play the point, as well as, shooting guard. History dictates that we will be down to other names by the time signing comes around in the fall. If that history changes with these two, then we will know that something different is going on. Won't bring anything special in the hair style department.
