He holds offers from VA Tech, FGCU, St. Bonaventure, FIU, Tennessee Tech, Buffalo, Austin Peay, Florida Atlantic, and Appalachian State. Explosive athlete, rim protector and strong finisher. I’d take him in a heartbeat. Put him in a 19-20 frontcourt with Nate, Mehkel, and Andy ... wow ... look out. RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting - billymac - 08-13-2018 11:46 AM That is some serious explosiveness. We can never have too many players like that. Possibly there has been some communication. They are: Toledo, South Florida, Bucknell, ODU, and Richmond.FWIW, looks like that original tweet was removed. At least I could no longer find it. JMU just offered Acunzo. Either @RicDeAnge was a little premature with his announcement of Acunzo’s final five or JMU didn’t get the memo that Acunzo had already narrowed his list. RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting - Tribeheart - 08-15-2018 09:21 AM Tyler Bertram's final seven: Hofstra, Loyola-Chicago, GW, Charlotte, Brown, St. Joe's and Rice. Guess no room with our limited two slots and our big man and wing target needs. Also, following Woodstock's coach. Gjerde currently playing for Norway in the FIBA U18b Euro Championships. He is very confident and very smooth. Seems like he has a little Grant Riller in his game (though he is taller than Riller) and has a wide little leg kick on his release Can get to the rack and create his own shot with ease. He seems to have a very strong Euro style game that I think would fit well with our Tribe. RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting - Tribeheart - 08-15-2018 12:44 PM Think we can gauge by pattern, if we see another big man offered, then we're out of the picture with, both, Roddy and Beran. Ditto, if we see another wing offered, then Brown or Acunzo has eliminated us. Staff sticks with a lot of precision. A tough balancing act with the big man slot, since so many plan B/C options have already committed. Beran is such a valuable player because he can transition between any position with ease. Roddy will ultimately be able to do the same. Makes me truly appreciate the involvement of folks on our board. It, also, makes me realize how well our alumni base is going to travel and support this program when that door finally gets busted down. We have a great site here, comparatively. It has been a very fun run for basketball the last 12-13 years(and especially the last 5). Lots of joy will be expressed hopefully in March of 2019 or 2020 and throughout the journey because so many have represented the Tribe so well. Cannot tell you how much I want to see this year's team, Coach Shaver and all the staff and Ms. Huge celebrate a championship. Trying to be as positive and upbeat about football this season too(and all other Tribe activities). I think certain fanbases bother me more in football for some reason. Only Hofstra( and that is mostly Uncle Joe) bothers me in basketball. Have really enjoyed the mostly valid information here and the proper way it is often handled. Lindo was someone the coaches were following for the 2018 Class; he has since decided to do a prep year at Northfield Mt. Hermon. He holds offers from Penn, ECU, Long Beach State, Brown, High Point, Yale, Loyola (MD), Columbia, Lehigh, Canisius, Bowling Green, Mount St. Mary’s, Harvard, Campbell, Robert Morris, and Hampton. Lindo will not reclass to 2019 and instead commits to Maryland. 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting - Tribeheart - 08-15-2018 08:19 PM May not matter, but it is worth noting that Mt. St. Mary's was Beran's first D1 offer last summer, by over a month, and Julian appears to have been the lead (not Jamion), since VA was his territory. Beran's stated order of priorities: 1) academics, 2) relationships, 3) basketball. As Nathan says, "say it into being." Sent from my SM-N910V using CSNbbs mobile app |
