Barring some unforeseen natural disaster, cataclysmic event, or "other" yet unknown calamity, I expect our Bobcats to return to The Lone Star State sporting a less than stellar 2-6 record. . . .

. . . The San Marcos Suck continues . . .

Coastal beats Ball State 1-0

Apps do their best to try and blow it, but beat Gardner Webb 5-4 and improve to 2-3.

RE: Sbc weekend baseball 2-24 to 2-26 - TrojanNation - 02-24-2017 07:56 PM

Troy and UNO tied at 7 through 3... not much defense so far.

RE: Sbc weekend baseball 2-24 to 2-26 - Atlanta Trojan - 02-24-2017 08:14 PM

8-7 Troy leads UNO in 5th

UNO is 5-0 with a win over #2 LSU last week

Kadon Simmons throws 8 innings of one run ball, but UTA doing what they have done under Darin Thomas for the last few years, still find a way to lose 3-1 in 10 innings.

stAte beat NW Louisiana 3-2. Nice job by Ayers and Kirby on the mound. We got 5 hits. That needs to break loose.

The good news is that we're scoring a lot of runs, even without the hits. Bats will eventually come around, over half our lineup has never played D1 baseball before this season.

The key with us is going to be pitching. Do we have enough depth in the bullpen to win on the weekends?

we dont seem to have a good closer so if the other team can stay close till the late innings and wait till we've gone thru the good part of our staff then we can be had. still missing those key hits when there are scoring opportunities. starting to look like the makings of an average season.

Gunner Leger and Dylan Moore combine on a two hit shutout as the Cajuns defeat #18 Sam Houston State 2-0. Cajuns beat a quality arm in RHP Heath Donica, who threw a one hit shutout with 14K in the season opener.

Cajuns were more competitive at the plate. Still a long way to go in that department.

Sammy State is ranked 18th?? Damn.

TXST starting pitching has been horrendous so far. Fell down 8-0 to OK State after 3, got it to 8-7 before eventually losing 10-7. Very worrisome trend. We've given up at least 8 runs through the first 4 innings in 4 of our first 6 games so far. Relief pitching has been fine also which is the most confusing thing.

RE: Sbc weekend baseball 2-24 to 2-26 - Atlanta Trojan - 02-25-2017 11:14 AM

Ya conference got a few good wins last night.

Sam Houston was #18

It's early but UNO has a RPI in the 30s and finished last year in the 30s
They were also 5-0 with a win over LSU

After this little OSU road trip, we come home to face Sam Houston on Tuesday night.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we drop this one too. . . . Apathy, Mediocrity, thy name is TXST Athletics. Our one constant year in and year out.
