Let the games begin!!! For baseball and softball, sports that my school competes very well.
This time of year is as exciting as August waiting for football.
Not sure how TxSt slide into second.....

At least anything better than last place would constitute improvement. App got 13 points so at least someone though the Apps could pull out of the cellar.

With what they have coming back, that's what I would have picked. The top three and bottom two are right on par with mine.
But in the end, that's preseason polls for ya. I think UTA is going to finish higher than 7th with what the Mavericks have coming back, but who would they bump?
And of course, Coastal, like they have been all year, is the wild card.

I think it's fair at this point. Last year was certainly a disappointment and TXST beat us easily. They return the best pitcher in the conference who we couldn't hit (she pitched almost every inning of 3 games).
We get a few injured players back and should have a little bit more power on offense. I think we will bounce back this year and be a contender again.

I actually thought TXST had a chance to be picked as the top team so getting a unanimous vote was pretty surprising to me. We do have Alex Stewart and four solid position players coming back, but the big question for the Cajuns is will we be able to replace the 63 HR's and 193 RBI's from a year ago. That's a lot of runs to make up in one year. The positive is Coach Lotief always seems to find little known players to fill in holes so I guess I wouldn't bet against him. It will be interesting to see how it evolves, but it probably will help to have the huge 23 game home stand to start the year (although thee of those will be hosting Alabama).

And we still have more recent NCAA appearances in the three major sports than you guys! But honestly, we're good at a few sports, just not the one's people care about on here, i.e wrestling, XC, usually volleyball, T&F.
I can't remember us ever being good at softball though.

And only one NCAA baseball appearance in the last 30 years.

It's been 16 years since our last basketball appearance, and 20 since yours. It's been 5 since our last baseball appearance, and 6 since yours. We made a bowl last year, you guys haven't made one yet (though you were eligible three years ago). That's all I claimed in my post.

I don't follow softball as much as I should, but we've made an excellent hire with Coach Smith. From indisputably the worst team in the league to competitive in 2 seasons is impressive in this conference.

That's what they do. They insult you but they're smiling while they do it. Very disconcerting.
