Before we get started talking about the game itself everyone keep in mind that the President will be in town. Looks like most of the closures are in east Philly but I'm sure there might be spill over protests etc so plan accordingly to get to the DAC on time!

Did we really need a 2nd thread?

We did not! I was on my phone when I posted. I missed the first one my bad. Can an admin merge them?

While it would have been nice if they didn't let Hofstra back in the game, it is nice to see us pull out a game like that. Lee can come up big when he needs to.

Wright-Foreman has become quite the player. He is only a sophomore; I guess we have a few more years to figure out how to stop him.

Only got home to see the OT, but it was nice to see a close one go our way.

And to add to dan10's ribbing of Medik, there is no such thing as "east Philly".

RE: Hofstra (Home) - J.B. - 01-26-2017 10:25 PM

Not happy to see them collapse in the 2nd half, but still a great win in OT. I'm pretty sure that 18 of the last 20 games at the DAC that went down to the wire ended with the visiting team player making a big shot at or near the buzzer, and Drexel missing the chance to win at the end. So glad to FINALLY see the visiting team actually miss several chances at the end for once. Seems like Hofstra missed chances at the end were all shots that they were making during the entire game. I look forward to the Always A Dragon analysis to get a full perspective on how it ended.

Tough crowd!

Also nice to see us grab this win. Much needed for this group. I was feeling pretty good up 13 at half, so that was a bit of a disappointment but glad they didnt let it get to them in OT. Onward and upwards

Anyone know how the home crowd was? Seems like this should have been prime timing for a big student section.

I didnt tune in to the video, and I don't trust ESPN, but ESPN lists just over 700, so very poor at best.

It was pretty empty last night. Crowd was 711, I think. The actual DAC Pack, which consists of about 15 students was lively and really into the game. There were another 50 students or so just hanging out. Main seating was empty.

Attendance numbers are really low this year, but there aren't necessarily fewer people at the games. I have a feeling that they used to pad the numbers more.

The last game against Delaware was as packed as I can ever remember it, but the actual attendance was only in the 1,700 range. If the capacity of the DAC is 2,500, there's NO WAY they could have fit another 800 people into that game.

People just need to learn more about this team. Regardless of their record they're playing a far more exciting brand of basketball. Spiker is pretty fun to watch on the sideline as well. The fans, in my opinion, just feel demoralized from the last couple of years.

i was really excited to see the sixers on espn 2 this morning...i mean really excited...because i realized it's been a long time since i had a team to really get behind and feel optimistic about. even some of my hatred for villanova got put aside last year. i just wanted to enjoy basketball again.
