Idaho FBS Petition - LatahCounty - 12-27-2016 02:22 PM

OK, I'm not really a big petition guy but this thing went up this morning and already has 265 signatures with very little publicity. Not sure what it will do for us but it can't hurt. So if anybody here wants to sign it, it's:

Admittedly, it is sad to watch.

Just give up guy. Just watch the ship go down.

Light up a smoke, pour ya a glass, and pour one out for all of your Idaho bros.

It's not that big of a ship. Won't take long to sink...

I'll give up sometime in August of 2018.

the petitioning should be directed towards the Mountain West. You'll take Fresno State and San Jose State and UNLV and New Mexico but not Idaho?

I don't think this is directed at the Sun Belt, if that's what you mean.

Doesn't really matter who it is directed toward.

It's happening.

RE: Idaho FBS Petition - Usajags - 12-27-2016 02:46 PM

PAC12 goes to 14, both from the MWC and the MWC back fills with NMSU and Idaho.

Someone came the PAC12 office and get this done.

The MW will stay at 10 then and still have a ccg

400 signatures are not going to change minds of Staben or the Governor.

Yeah in all fairness you guys need some boosters and fans to put pressure on the administration ala UAB. Also some county/city pressure on the school.

The PAC 12 would probably add only one from the MW, that being Colorado St, and also add BYU. MW would back fill needing only one, could be NMSU or Idaho, or UTEP. If UTEP then CUSA tries to pull an SBC and the whole thing just gets messy.

See what you started, now this is turning into an expansion thread......

I think a compromise can be struck with New Mexico St and Idaho. The ACC has a scheduling agreement with Notre Dame where the Fighting Irish play 5 ACC schools per year, while still remaining independent. Surely a 3-5 game per year deal could be struck with either schools. Ideally a two year extension for both schools, football only, would probably be best for everybody. Only Benson would kick a 9 win team out the conference.

No, but if they were able to get the entirety of the booster club, the student body, and a decent turnout from the population of Moscow.

I think that'd be like 30k signatures though... I don't think Idaho particularly cares if some ******* from Texas who follows Texas State signs it.

I agree. This is just one more pebble to put on the mountain. I almost didn't post this because I knew it would generate a bunch of hostile or condescending posts but I decided if I could help make Chuck Staben's life even a tiny bit more difficult I'd do it.

All of that is also happening. This is just another way to get attention. At least 1 TV network in-state has already bitten on it.

The extra numbers help when the media reports on the reaction. Bigger is better. So if you want to sign it, go ahead.

It wasn't Benson's call, it was (scuttlebutt alert) a unanimous, or very close to unanimous consensus between all SBC full-member presidents.

I looked at that petition and thought about signing it for you guys but realized only folks from the state of Idaho would even be considered a legitimate protest by any powers that be. Good luck though, I wish Idaho and its fans NOTHING but the best. 04-cheers

RE: Idaho FBS Petition - Eagleditka - 12-27-2016 06:03 PM

Decisions can be overturned if the facts on the ground change. What is there to lose from staying at 12 a little longer?

You know that Idaho fans/alumni/family/friends/etc live all over the country? It's nice to see a ton of people in Idaho signing this thing, but it'd be even better if Staben realized that people around the country pay attention.
