How about La Salle goes to the MAAC, Rider goes to the CAA, and Elon goes elsewhere.

Isabell could go to the NCAA Tournament. Tomorrow at 1:00 P.M. the Final is 4 seed St. Bonaventure vs. 6 seed Saint Louis.

RE: Drexel Dragons Alumni Thread - EvanJ - 03-17-2019 03:58 PM

Saint Louis came back from down 15 to beat St. Bonaventure 55-53. After the first score was a 2-0 Saint Louis with 2 free throws with 18:43 left in the first half, St. Bonaventure made a 3 with 18:18 left and led for 31:20 until Saint Louis took a 47-46 lead with 6:58 left. Saint Louis expanded the lead to 54-46. St. Bonaventure made a 3 with 0:58 left that was the last score for either team. Saint Louis missed the first of a 1-and-1. St. Bonaventure ended with missed 3-offensive rebound-missed layup-offensive rebound-missed 3.

After Damion Lee transferred and before we knew Louisville had a postseason ban, did anybody think that he wouldn't play in the NCAA Tournament but another player would transfer from you and play in the NCAA Tournament a few years later?

I was surprised at Lee not playing in the NCAA Tournament, but that was more due to circumstances. That Louisville team was definitely better than this Saint Louis team. As far as other players, I'm a little surprised it happened so soon after, but being a mid-major, there's always going to be a risk of players transferring out. Sooner or later one of them is bound to make the tourney.

We actually have 3 transfers in the NCAA tournament this year, unless you just meant grad transfer

Tramaine Isabell and St Louis

Terrell Allen and Central Florid

Rashaan London and North Carolina Central

RE: Drexel Dragons Alumni Thread - EvanJ - 03-22-2019 10:23 PM

I just saw Terrell Allen in a box score. He's their point guard. It took Central Florida 6:22 to score, but they were only down 5-0, and they now lead VCU 52-33. Central Florida is a 9 seed who I picked, and 55.1 percent of people on ESPN picked them. My bracket is down to 49th percentile, but that game will help me.

I'm surprised that nobody picked this up, but Terrell Allen is now playing for Georgetown as a graduate transfer scoring 7 points a game.

Damion Lee scored just 6 points as a starter in his return to Philadelphia last night as his Golden State Warriors fell to the Sixers 115-104 at the Wells Fargo Center on a somber night in which the Sixers honored Kobe.

RE: Drexel Dragons Alumni Thread - dan10 - 01-29-2020 08:06 AM

Not an ideal day for his return to Philly. They didn't even do introductions, so not even a chance to give him a round of applause/appreciation. Hope his play picks up too

I got to take in some indoor lacrosse action tonight at the Wells Fargo Center and watched 2 Drexel alumni playing for the Saskatchewan Rush in the National Lacrosse League.

Saskatchewan beat the Wings 15-10 tonight.
2013 Graduate Robert Church scored 2 goals and had 3 assists and 2014 Graduate Ben McIntosh scored 3 goals and had 3 assists during their Philadelphia homecoming tonight.

The most successful coach in Drexel Basketball history is now the winningest coach in New Hampshire history. Congrats to Bill Herrion.

I'd love to see Herrion bring his New Hampshire squad back to the DAC, though I think the only way it would happen is if he's forced to through one of those weird exempt tournaments.

Sad news today...
Former Drexel star and coach Walt Fuller passed away. He was the MVP of the 1986 ECC Champions. He also was an assistant under Eddie Burke and Bill Herrion and recruited Malik Rose to come to Drexel.

Damion Lee Positive for Covid after being vaccinated

Mike Jensen story on what Bruiser's been up to.

Mentions him staying in touch with former players and assistants. I hadn't realized Mike Connors is now head coach at USciences or that Geoff Arnold was now a Rider assistant.

I didn't know about Conners. Is the USciences team going away, since they merged with SJU?

I do know about Arnold at Rider since I follow that team and attend games there. Dino Presley, who also coached at Drexel, is Rider's associate head coach. Funny how many of us wanted Arnold to be the guy to succeed or replace Bruiser as head coach. He gave SJU what they needed by getting Galloway to play there. Now he's the 2nd assistant at a MAAC school.

I was distracted from watching the end of the CAA game by watching the craziness of the Wagner/Bryant NEC Championship Game. Bash's Wagner team was getting slaughtered on Bryant's home court when a fight broke out in the stands between the Wagner fans and Bryant students. Game has been delayed for 25 minutes while they straighten it out. Bryant wants to finish the game but as of now, Wagner hasn't come out and might forfeit. Shame this had to happen.

RE: Drexel Dragons Alumni Thread - J.B. - 03-08-2022 09:20 PM

Looks like Wagner will finish the game even though they're down 68-32 with 4:37 left. I'm fascinated with how they're trying to figure this all out. They even orchestrated a court storming, and told the fans that they can storm the court, but not until Wagner's players and fans leave the court.

This is bizarre....

Game has resumed and announcers are talking about how much of a class act Bashir Mason is for being willing to bring his team back onto the court in such tough circumstances.

The strangest last 4:30 I've ever seen...and they have Wagner bench and team leave the court with 0:02 left.
