I'd like to rename this thread if an admin can do it.

There's no such thing as a former Dragon.

Dragons Now Elsewhere Thread - Water Boy - 04-22-2017 05:02 PM

Khris Lane, after showing what he could do with some playing time at Longwood for two years, is returning to his CAA roots (sorta) by heading to VCU as a graduate transfer.

RE: Former Dragons Thread - dan10 - 04-24-2017 08:57 AM

Interesting that with new coaches VCU is interested in him. If I recall he chose us but VCU was on his list to begin with. Not sure I have seen a kid go elsewhere then come back to a different school he was looking at originally.

Nice interview with Bruiser

RE: Former Dragons Thread - dan10 - 05-16-2017 01:39 PM

Very good interview. Nothing too surprising in it (whether it was his responses or even the questions asked with his responses). Glad he seems to have picked up a few items in his time off and we shall see how that translates as an assistant. It sure seems like his ego is in check, which is a bit of a surprise to me (I really thought being an assistant to anyone would just be looked down upon in his eyes, so its nice to see he is excited for work for Archie and help a young and up and coming coach get better.)

RE: Former Dragons Thread - Water Boy - 05-17-2017 03:03 PM

I'm sure it will take some getting used to for Brusier to be an assistant after so many years of being the head coach. I think its a good move for him though, as it would seem he wants to stay in the game and this seems like a good path to getting another head coaching job down the road.

It's a shame he couldn't have taken a sabbatical after the first NCAA snub and did his practice tour; maybe he could have learned something that would have pushed us over the top the second time.

At least he didn't take the Tina Martin approach and just go take an assistant job with another team in the CAA. Seems like a pretty big FU directed back at Delaware there.

In Deutschland, Frantz takes the court in a couple of hours looking to lead his team to a win at home in Game #4 of his semi-final series against the top seed in the German playoffs and clinch a spot in the Finals.

Frantz' team dug themselves a 14-0 hole in Game 4 that they were not able to overcome, but got out to a lead yesterday in the decisive Game 5 and were able to hold on and advance to the BBL Finals.

Ed. Note: Can't wait for the corporate dam to burst stateside where the naming rights to the leagues are sold. Already starting with next season's debut of the Stubhub Sixers.

Bashir's Wagner team will play tomorrow night as host to LIU Brooklyn for an NCAA appearance. Wagner has been that leagues best team thus far this season. Good luck tomorrow!

They lost the Finals 3-0. They qualified for the 2017-2018 Champions League, and advanced in third of a group of eight with a 9-5 record. On Wednesday they host fellow German club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in the first game of the Round of 16. Like in soccer, the Round of 16 has each team host one game. In the German regular season, EWE Baskets Oldenburg is sixth out of eighteen and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg is third. Several Americans play in Germany. The 2016-2017 MVP and leading scorer was Raymar Morgan from Michigan State, and the assists leader was Jared Jordan from Marist. Massenat has a teammate who went to Missouri and a teammate who went to St. Mary's, along with a teammate who Wikipedia says is American but does not have a page for.

A while back, Metsox asked me to change the name of this thread, since there's no such thing as a Former Dragon. Once a Dragon...Always a Dragon.

Now that I have moderator tools, I changed the title of the thread.

Bold first move of power. Kudos.

Bashir Mason leads his Wagner team against LIU-Brooklyn tonight in the NEC championship game. They split during the regular season, so I would imagine it will be a tough game, but here's hoping Bash finally gets into the tournament.

Perhaps you could sticky it as well?

They get them at home where they beat LIU by 4 late in the season. Hope it goes better for him tonight than two years ago.

Not going well for Bash. Down 34-18 at half. Hadn't lost at home all year

Checking it out now. The NEC, AE, and Patriot have the best conference championship games. Love watching them in tiny on campus gyms vs. big sterile arenas in neutral places.

RE: Drexel Dragons Alumni Thread - dan10 - 03-06-2018 09:48 PM

Wagner falls as the top seed to the 4tg seeded LIU Brooklyn. Bash showed ultimate respect to his senior giving him a stand O once it was obviously over with about a minute left. Either 2 straight years or 2 out of the past 3 Wagner lost in the final on their home floor. Bash still can't go dancing

5 out of his 6 seasons he’s lost a home NEC tourney game. And yeah, twice in last three years it’s been in the finals. Rough.

RE: Drexel Dragons Alumni Thread - Water Boy - 03-11-2018 12:32 AM

For the second season in a row, Rashann London will be watching his North Carolina Central teammates play in the NCAA tournament. Best I can tell, he is injured which is why he hasn't played this year. It sounds like he still expects to play next year.
