Watching him this year, whether it is the NFL game speed or crappy coaching/prep, Jimmy often looks a little lost. On the one hand, he never seems to be making any assumptions, more the opposite that there is just not great communication with the rookie - at least this was the case early in the season (and against good teams!). He looked MUCH better in today's game than he has most of the regular season. I think if he can continue to play this season out and build experience and chemistry, the feel of the game will come back and he'll relax into his ball-hawkish self.
I think he has learned quickly that trying to make a big play may come at the expense of giving up an even bigger play. That's a good thing. Even when he gets beat, he usually wraps up quickly or forgets the play quickly. This is why he is playing better than Norman (although in a different role in the slot), who seems to always play on an island and gives up far more than the big plays he makes from time to time. He does need to reign in his tenacity, which landed the roughing of the kicker last week and a just a moment too early PI this week. Easier to overcome that at JMU than it is with the Redskins for sure!

Vad gets 99.999% of the credit, HOWEVER, when I purchased my season tickets they asked me what made me interested and I said the only reason was because they drafted a JMU alum first overall. I'm guessing they feared a slow down in sales after Rashard was picked up by Titans and reached out to Vad.

Yeah, it was close. I think though he was told that after Week 5 along with the rest of the team.

Thanks for the update. That's great news. Rashard is a great ambassador for JMU. This news gives me extra motivation to root for the Titans this upcoming Sunday against the Texans. I believe if Tennessee wins, they are in the playoffs (read: control their own destiny). Might be able to still get in with a loss, though may need some help in other games. Go Rashard!!!!
