W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - soccerguy315 - 08-27-2016 12:13 PM to use for student housing ... wish they would knock it down and rebuild something in the character of campus, but I understand that is expensive if the current structure is in acceptable condition. http://www.wm.edu/news/stories/2016/william--mary-real-estate-foundation-agrees-to-purchase-days-inn-on-richmond-road.php RE: W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - mrjoolius - 08-27-2016 01:38 PM Darn. RE: W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - zablenoise - 08-27-2016 04:32 PM I would not want to be stuck living there as a student Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk RE: W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - Tribe Fan - 08-27-2016 07:03 PM Th'Burg needs a downtown hotel other than a CW property IMHO... RE: W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - BigTribe2 - 08-28-2016 05:12 AM They are planning to completely redo the facility from top to bottom...it will end up a fine place for students. And with lots of parking and close access to the campus. Between the undergrads and graduate students this year W&M appears to have topped the 8000 mark for the first time...they need the housing. RE: W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - Paulbintheburg - 08-28-2016 06:44 AM Is this the Day's Inn next to the BP station? Seems more cost-effective to tear down and start over. Lots of wasted space with the pool and motel structure. Also, the ceilings are quite low in there and I dont know how that can be fixed. Definitely need to talk to CW and see if they can recruit a developer to put a new hotel or 2 closer to campus. The hotel by the BP is a Motel 8, I think. RE: W&M to buy Days Inn on Richmond Road - nogretheogre - 08-28-2016 09:31 AM Its the one 3 blocks up Richmond Rd from the Alumni House/Zable. Oh okay, that is actually a pretty nice place. There isn't much left "walking distance" to the college, unless you stay at a B&B.
