Women's Soccer - Tribal - 08-12-2016 09:36 PM

Tribe stomped Liberty 5-0 in an exhibition game tonight behind outstanding performances by a few underclass[wo]men.

RE: Women's Soccer - Tribal - 08-13-2016 09:05 AM

I think the Tribe are picked to finish 1st in the CAA.

Regular season starts Friday at ECU.

Ladies beat ECU on the road 3-0 to open the regular season tonight. A nice start to the 2016 campaign.

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 08-26-2016 05:27 AM

Ladies lost a very tough one to Maryland at home last evening, 3-2, despite outshooting the terrapins by 13-7
and controlling much of the field position throughout. Almost 500 Tribe fans showed up, auguring well for the season and this very competitive Tribe team which will be, in my opinion, a top 25 team.

First 150 students received a free teeshirt. I wonder how many turned out.

Beat VCU 1-0 behind a career high 13 saves by our stud gk.

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 09-09-2016 05:47 AM

Women's offense, despite recent wins, has looked tepid recently. Outshot 13-3 last night by VCU, a mediocre
team. I'm sure practices will be devoted to developing some offensive pinch.

big career accomplishment right there!

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 09-12-2016 05:04 AM

W&M the only college that has two soccer coaches with 400 wins or more. Al Albert had 401 so Daly will
pass Al very soon!

Both our men and women appear to be coming on strong lately and should challenge for CAA championships
and the NCAA Tourneys.

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 09-16-2016 05:48 AM

Woman's team suffered its worst home loss in memory last night, 3-2, to a mediocre High Point team. We surrendered a 2-0 lead in the final ten minutes of regulation and lost on a golden goal in overtime despite completely dominating the OT and the game, outshooting HP 22-9.

A deadly loss that probably dooms the team from any NCAA at-large bid if we don't win CAA title.

Team is struggling with the absence of two starting injured players.

RE: Women's Soccer - Dr. Ebirt - 09-23-2016 08:02 PM

Ladies beat JMU tonight 3-0 and beat Marshall this past Sunday 1-0. Now at 7-3 overall and 1-0 in CAA play. Perhaps the sky isn't falling.

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 09-24-2016 05:31 AM

Unusual game last evening: we won handily, 3-0, but were outshot 22-10 and 13-5 in shots on goal.
Best crowd of the season at Martin, close to 450.

Our precocious redshirt freshman, Sara Segan...a budding superstar....scored her seventh goal of the season
(in just ten games).

RE: Women's Soccer - Tribal - 09-24-2016 08:37 AM

Whew, so the loss to HPU wasn't fatal. Thank goodness.

One Tribe. One Family.

I guess we're dead again. Lost to Towson 2-1

One Tribe. One Family.

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 09-25-2016 04:25 PM

An awful loss to a poor Towson team. Watched parts of game on my computer and team looked lifeless.
Perhaps the ladies were suffering from an Elon football game hangover.

RE: Women's Soccer - BigTribe2 - 10-03-2016 05:28 AM

Another crushing home loss to another mediocre CAA team, Elon, by a hard-to-believe 3-0.
No attack, poor defense, dispirited effort...just let Elon stand there with the ball. Watch John Daley
on Tribe TV after game...he is stunned.

We lost consecutive home games to Towson and Elon and are 1-2 in CAA. Our record, once a gaudy 5-1, has fallen to 7-5.

We have some elite players and recruits on this team; they are just not performing.

Lost to NU
