Fun Stat of the day - Water Boy - 01-11-2016 02:15 AM

Stats so far for the season for two big men from Richmond in Drexel's 2013 recruiting class.

Rodney Williams 9.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg
Khris Lane 10.0 ppg, 7.2 rpg

Lane plays for a bad Longwood team (Big South) against one of the weaker schedules, but I still found the stats a bit surprising.

Hard to say what he could have done here, since he never played. My guess is he still would have been a 4th or 5th option with who we have, so his choice appears to be a good one so he can actually play.

Tough comparison. Sometimes players need a change of scenery to excel. Also, Longwood's SOS is 286 while Drexel's SOS is 46, so Drexel has faced much tougher competition thus far.

I realize it is an unfair comparison. We'll never know how he would have done here, but it seems like putting up those numbers for a D1 team that perhaps he could at least match (or perhaps have improved on) what we're getting out of Bah (the other big guy in his class) or Austin Williams (the guy who presumably filled the scholarship he vacated).

In another gross misuse of numbers relating to transfers, I see that LSU, who was soundly beaten by CoC earlier in the year, beat Kentucky by 18. Since Kentucky beat Louisville, clearly Drexel must be a far superior team compared to Louisville and Damion should have stayed put.

I guess I should have been reading the other thread. I guess great minds think alike.

Absolutely but now we have the actual connection other than a player that says we could beat Kentucky instead of Louisville. Apples and Oranges, I know, but we don't have a lot to grasp onto these days despite the improvements shown.
