Let's face it, the Bubba Cup is totally flawed. I cannot fathom why anyone gets points for a sport that is not a SBC sport with an SBC Ring, but there it is.

Based on 10 sports (5 men / 5 women sports)
Football
Men's Basketball
Women's Basketball
Baseball
Softball
Men's Soccer
Women's Soccer
Women's Volleyball
Men's Tennis
Women's Tennis
Some of the top teams don't sponsor all of the sports being rated. USC, for example, doesn't sponsor 2 of the 10 sports. Seems fair to me.

Us having womens basketball this year was almost as bad as not even having a team. That killed our ranking.

This is like the people who use last year's CFP conference rankings to make a broad statement when the year before that the SBC was #1. ASU finished very high among G5s last year in the rankings of all sports despite the fact that we sponsor fewer than a lot of our competitors. The swing from one year to the next can be pretty big.

It does swing and did this year but knowing that did not stop SBC fans from letting us know how crappy we were in comparison to the SBC. So this year was our turn to feel good although the MWC felt even better. Maybe next year it will be yours again.

UL is #86 now, I think it changes with games being played in Baseball and Softball, only Massey knows :)
