Louisville adds Lee - jarr - 04-23-2015 01:00 PM
UL is killing it on the 5th year guys. I really wouldn't mind seeing Cronin nab one or two when there are open scholarships from transfers. I really don't see the use in wasting a scholarship anymore with all of the 5th year players available.

UC's perceived style of play has to be hurting them with many of these kids (both HS and transfers). Recruiting has been on a steady decline for several years now IMO. They actually seemed to recruit better during the years prior to making the NCAA Tournament. Baffling.

I agree. At least when Cronin first got here I remember seeing names like Thabeet, Eugene Harvey, Kemba Walker being thrown around all the time. I never even see them on the radar anymore.

Agreed but that being said we are being out recriuted by UConn, Mem, SMU and Temple. In the last class our class was on par with UCF and USF. I get being out recruited by UConn and Memphis bit the rest is unacceptable to me.

In football that makes a big difference, but I don't think its that big of a deal in basketball. We got top classes in the 90's in a worse C-USA. Memphis has always recruited well.

Last year only, two years ago UConn and UM won 7 games.

I agree that conference affiliation is much less meaningful in CBB vs. football.
It's as though ppl forget...in the modern UC era (in hoops) we had our best recruits w/o being in a major conference.

Seriously we run a kid off yet can't even land a 2016 recruitmuch less a 5th year guy or a transfer. Don't seem to be a front runner for anyone. Pretty disappointed in recruiting this spring.

I can try to dig up the article. But I believe it was stated as a "mutual decision", which is coach-speak for "You need to leave".
