Overdosing on statistics, but there are just some glaring stats that really define this team. As much as FT's have had an impact, points in the paint have been even more telling. It's amazing really.

Not including St. Andrews.

8 losses -

Only had more points in the paint one time in our losses, and that was +4 against Hofstra. Check this out though. The points in the paint differential has been dramatic in our losses.

ODU - 35-16 minus 19
Davidson -- 27-16 minus 11
Louisville - 46-26 minus 20
Campbell- 32-22 minus 10
Minn - 54-38 minus 16
Ohio - 28-18 minus 10
Hofstra - 26-30 plus 4
W&M - 32-24 minus 8

8 Wins -

UNCG - 28-34 minus 6
VMI - 84-34 plus 50
Liberty - 32-34 minus 2
ECU - 30-20 plus 10
NU - 42-26 plus 16
Del - 30-24 plus 6
Drexel - 30-24 plus 6
Hofstra - 40-18 plus 22

Holy crap, + 22 against Hofstra. And + 50 against VMI? Wow.

There's no reason to think that we couldn't ram the ball into the paint on any team in the CAA consistently this year.

It shows where our winning game is. We are not a 3 point shooting, or jump shooting team. We're a drive to the bucket or score with our big men team. When we find ourselves shooting 3's, we find ourselves losing games. Spruill, Freddie and CJ represent the game we should play. An occasional 3 is understood, but it isn't our bread and butter.

We also have to stop the other team from scoring in the paint. This is where I think we need to go zone more often when the other team is scoring in the paint.

I hate the zone but if you can't guard people it can benefit a team at times.

Perhaps why Keatts might only be sprinkling it in rather than relying on it. Unless you're Syracuse you're not going to have success in the long run if you can't play man-to-man against most teams you play.
