That means 8 FCS Conf. are better than the SBC. Bull.

No. Only one FCS conference is rated higher than the SBC: Missouri Valley at #15. As I mentioned originally, each division within a conference is rated separately.

Ok. Thanks. I went to their website but the conf part of it wouldn't open on my tablet. BTW I disagree with the Missouri Valley being better too.

Here's another little tidbit: only 42 teams are rated higher than North Dakota State on the Sagarin poll.

That's primarily because NDSU has the ratings really skewed one direction.

Imagine Sagarin is going to get a lot of letters from GS people.

Sagarin ratings are a load of crap and I have no idea why anyone gives them any credible thought. Ok, you don't like human "feelings" and want some science, I get that but this load of horse dung is worthless, other than to stir the pot. Case in point: He has Utah St ranked 7 spots ahead of Ark St. Let's see, they have a common opponent in Tenn. Ark St performed better against that common opponent, scoring more and giving up fewer points. Man, if only there was some other way of determining who was the better team....oh wait, how about head to head....yep, Ark St just won that game. But still, Sagarin says Utah St is the better team. When you have head to head matchups and common opponents and one team beat the other, played a harder schedule and beat the other team and you rate that second team ahead of the first, then your rating isn't worth crap.

I always thought that the Sagarin was better viewed as two polls combined. You can't really value the two leagues together with Sagarin, but they aren't bad indicators on ranking within one team's division.

Sagarin is a good rating system after 8 or so games when the sample size becomes adequate.

It's nothing more than water cooler fodder. Without semi-meaningful data to talk about, this board would be inundated with moronic barbs thrown between two schools leading up to a rivalry game. We can't have that!
