From the USA Media Guide: "The 1975 South Alabama baseball team established itself as arguably one of the program’s greatest squads. Not only did the ‘75 Jags set a still- standing school record with 52 wins, but they tied the 1972 team for the program’s longest win streak at 19 games. USA opened the season with a 17-game win streak before surrendering its first loss of the year to Ohio at Jaguar Field. But the Jags rebounded with a 19-game win streak to capture wins in 36 of their first 37 contests. South Alabama was ranked No. 1 in the nation on April 7, 1975 by Collegiate Baseball, marking the second time in the program’s 11-year history that the Jaguars reached the top spot in the national polls."
