Current Sun Belt baseball RPIs (5/12) - GaSoEagle - 05-12-2014 09:14 PM

Louisiana 9
Ark. St. 54
Texas St. 80
WKU 93
Texas Arlington 110
South Ala 139
UALR 154
ULM 168
Ga. State 171
Troy 182

By the way: Ga. Southern is 104 and App. St. is 183.

At this point the Sun Belt is probably just a 1 bid league this year unless someone other than Louisiana wins the tourney.

Louisiana at #9 is probably going to drop a bit finishing this weekend with ULM. I still believe they should be a top 8 seed, but don't be surprised if they get jobbed out of it and only host the regionals, not Super Regionals.

They lost an absolute ton last year. Were left with an offense that struggles to hit the long ball and doesn't do the little things well enough to make up for it. Pitching wise, they look like one of those USA teams from the past, when the Jags had maybe four guys they would pitch all year long, and would run starters for 130 plus pitches and relievers for 5 innings one day and 4 innings the next.

Game 1 against ASU, Troy got a gem out of McCain to win. But the problem is...they had only their closer left that they have any confidence in. Game 2's starter was getting torched but was left out there for inning after inning to avoid using the Pen...and After taking a 1 run lead in the 3rd inning Sunday, they attempted to bring in their closer for a 7 inning save.

You just can't do that in D1 baseball and expect to have a ton of success without having an unbelievable offense.

We rarely got the pitching and hitting on the same days...

when I look at these RPI's , it makes me sick. When you sweep a series and your RPI goes down, we all have a problem. What happened to the The Sunbelt? Recently, our Conference RPI was #5, now it's in the tank. Our bottom 4 or 5 teams need to re-commit to getting this fixed or we all suffer. The Sunbelt baseball history is a proud one, and we can't let this thing keep going down. Don't settle for middle of the pack, get new coaches and fire up your fan base. this is no joke. Good Luck !

I think its more of a down year than teams needing to recommit. No one honestly thought Troy and USA would be as poor as they have, while ASU has been the only real surprise team based on preseason predictions.

When that happens, you end up with RPI issues. Ours went down with a 2-1 series win against Troy.

We continue to hold steady at #22. We continue to hear buzz about us possibly hosting a regional in Lynchburg.

Nope, those are after. UTA is still getting eaten alive by its poor nonconference results.

I'm surprised Southern is still top 5 in the belt in RPI after the disappointing season we had.

ASU still trying its darndest to get its home game with Ole Miss in tonight. Rebels have no desire to play, but they are welcome to forfeit if they wish.

we certainly thought we would do better this year..looks like our game with tcu tonight is cancelled due to weather in the area..

TXST/UT cancelled in T5, tied 1-1, due to lightening in the area. Stats will be wiped clean. No game happened.

Yup, it is a shame too. We had three top 25 wins this year, but that can't make up for the pitiful losses to teams like SFA, Incarnate Word or Abilene Christian.

We have a better record against the Big 12 tahn we do against the Southland.
