Who(outside of possibly FloridaJag) has ever said SHSU is a real candidate any time soon?

You know who else isn't a real candidate?

Did you even read the article that you linked. Sam Houston is years away from being ready to even think about moving up. There ship already sailed or will never ever leave the dock.

RE: SHSU to SBC - ChooChoo - 04-14-2014 09:43 AM

Wow, that is the worst thread title ever. Should read King Kong Attacks Druid Orphange. It would be equally accurate.

RE: SHSU to SBC - SHWISH - 04-14-2014 09:48 AM

I was also thinking of schools being mentioned to join. JMU...Yes, Liberty...Yes...
Does Jax st and EKU fit the current budget and facility holding back SHSU?

RE: SHSU to SBC - SHWISH - 04-14-2014 10:08 AM

There are plenty articles still has SHSU a candidate for SBC. I should have added this to the SHSU thread, I wasn't thinking.

Despite what you clowns think, I still believe Mo st and Lamar is in play for SBC while being in the west.

Jax st...no, location
Liberty...no, can't get votes or would have been added.
EKU...no, not ready to move in 30 days. 2-3 years from now, yes.
JMU...YES, NO, YES, MAYBE, NAH...Ball in JMU court. I am now leaning JMU says no because
more realignment is coming and JMU wants a better ship

Then who is left? mo st and Lamar
both school could work.
Add Lamar and mo st, nmsu goes all sports, Idaho leave, ULM goes east. perfect tight footprint.

Comparing JMU budget to others would require adjustments. Add the Marching Southerners budget to JSUs athletic budget would make a huge difference. The Southerners make several road games (Eastern Washington last season plus othres) and perform nearly every weekend at festivals. Travel alone has to be several dollars.

Lamar Alexander would join the Sun Belt before Lamar

RE: SHSU to SBC - TrueBlueAlum - 04-14-2014 10:23 AM

I'll be honest I didn't read the article.

However, if SHSU had serious intentions of moving up soon Fritz would not have left to come to GS. It's a big reason he was considering jobs elsewhere, he wanted to move up and SHSU wasn't doing what they needed to do to get it done.

Jax State will never be in the belt as long as Troy and USA are. So, they can keep dreaming.

Whup Jax State, an oldie, but a goodie.

RE: SHSU to SBC - asupatch - 04-14-2014 10:23 AM

Two things.

1. Most misleading thread title ever.
2. Lamar has ZERO chance of a SBC invite anytime soon.

I agree, just dont see Troy or USA supporting JSU. USA might consider JSU but Troy would have to be persuaded more than I think possible or worthwhile.

can you at least say your reasoning? Lamar meets all requirement except stadium size.

The javelin team would be killer though.

Stadium Size, winning tradition, no TV market(4th or 5th fiddle in Houston).

You can get a way with lacking in one or two of these areas but not all three.
