Finally we can act like we've been there before GEAUX CAJUNS GEAUX SBC.

I can't remember a UL team where up and down the lineup there are no weeknesses in hitting. It puts alot of pressure on the other teams pitching staff. One mistake and BAM.

I haven't found a weekness, from the water girl on up. Hitting, pitching, and fielding pretty solid

I wouldn't want to play us.

Its impossible to win every game. Congratulations to the Privateers for doing something only 3 other teams have been able to do

What counts is where you are at the end of the season. Like I said in an earlier post, the #1 ranking was good for the University and fans

Hell yeah, they did. You don't need to tell us how good they are and how tough it is to play there.

And as bad as the record looks, they've been in a LOT of games late against a lot of good competition. Great to see them finally break through against one of them.

Congrats UNO, the Cajuns still have the better team, but yall were flat out better than us tonight. We looked like a team that thought we could roll the ball on the mound and UNO would roll over, well it didn't happen. Hopefully the guys learned a lesson tonight. Good luck to UNO the rest of the season, nice to see yall back in D1.

The Privateer pitchers got out of major binds in both the bottom of the 8th and 9th. With bases loaded and 1 out, a strikeout and groundout stranded the runners in the bottom of the 8th.

Also, in the bottom of the ninth, UL had runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. A new pitcher comes in and gets a strkeout and 2 groundouts stranding a runner and ending the game.

Not many teams can do that to the Cajuns with that many runners in scoring position, especially with the hitters we have.

Congrats to relief pitchers, Martinez and McKigney.

Nothing like letting one slip away. It's the #1 curse.:)

First, UNO deserved to win the game last night. They got the hits in critical situations and the Cajuns didn't. You can't have the bases loaded with one away and not score, and then have runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs and only score one run. UNO pitchers made the pitches they needed at the critical times, and the Cajun hitters showed some poor strike zone recognition.

That being said, those first five innings were brutal to watch. With the 30mph wind gusts, the rain was blowing sideways. I don't know why they didn't stop the game until it somewhat cleared. I know during the inning where UNO scored the five runs the pitcher appeared to have trouble gripping the ball. It seemed like for about three batters he didn't get the ball within a foot of the strike zone, and most were at the height of the batters head. It was brutal sitting in the stands watching as well. I felt bad for the pitcher having to throw during those conditions. This didn't decide the game as the Cajuns came back and tied the game in the bottom or the inning so I'm not blaming the weather, but those conditions to play in were bad.

Just to state facts, that wasn't a reliever UNO put in in the 9th. That was a weekend starter. Not trying to take away from them bc they played to win, like they should. But he wasn't your average week day pitcher...

McKigney was starting on weekends but had control issues and lost his rotation spot to a freshman. The last two weekends he's come out of the pen and been really good. He's our best "arm" but hasn't been our best pitcher until very recently.

That UNO loss sure hurt, knocked us from a #6 RPI all the way to #13, BUT, it might have come at a good time and have been a real lesson learned for the team. Lotta games left to play, stay focused boys....the prize is still there waiting.04-cheers

Tulane had a chance to help us but refused/ lost one run games to Rice last night and today.

We might need to quit scheduling them if they can,t beat UNO, or Rice. LOL
