Sorry if your feelings are hurt that most don't consider your team amongst the top 2.

There are numerous prediction threads on this board. Are you going to cry on all of them or just this one?

I think ULL just turned the ball over again. Touchdown, Jaguars!

Texas St and USA will be strong this year.

And USA just gave away a game against (insert opponent) in the 4th quarter. Victory (insert opponent)!!

I know that game is fresh in ya'lls minds because it was the last one, but that thing has been long forgotten by Cajun fans. Onward to bigger and better things.

With a redshirt freshman QB that had played a total of 1 quarter of college football. Had Broadway not broken his wrist I'm not sure you guys would have won.

Broadway didn't play defense.

No excuse yall beat us but our young QB didn't play offense that night. Just saying Broadway didn't play defense but he wasn't on the field leading the offense to multiple scores. Just saying congrats on your victory. And as far as this thread goes I do feel we have the strongest team in the conference this year. Not predicting anything outside of NOB or GDB. I'm confident not stupid.

No sounds like a team that played its bowl game before bowls were announced. Hang your hat on that victory you earned but where did it get ya.

All the talk of "we've forgotten about that loss" talk is BS. The Cajun's haven't forgotten about it, and neither has the rest of the conference. That's why USA is on everybody's radar as an up and coming potential contender. Until proven otherwise - they are in the running imop just like everybody else, I'm not ready to give up the crown to anybody myself.

who cares what fans remember...I'm pretty sure neither of you will be strapping it up next year in cajun field. I promise you the guys in that locker room will remember it, as long as we stay healthy, it will be a game your guys will want to forget. Mark hudspeth is not the best X's and O's guy in the world but as a motivator...not sure id take another coach in the country. ASU embarrassed the Cajuns 2 years ago...so last year hudspeth ran the same run play 20 times in a row for about 6-8 a carry. We are not losing to you in cajun field, not gonna happen.

I was told South Alabama would win the SBC in basketball and had the player of the year! I never thought a program that has been known historically for baseball and basketball is now hanging it's hat on a 6-6 football season and softball! Congrats!

Not BS. Seriously. I mean if you want a good feel for how the Cajun faithful feel about the football team then just head over to Ragin Pagin or our Scout board. Hot items: stadium expansion, 2014/15 recruiting class, spring practice, upcoming spring game.

That's in addition to talking about our top 20 softball team, top 5 baseball team, basketball winning the conference tourney and making the dance, Elfrid Payton leaving for the draft.

The loss to USA 4 months ago which came prior to our 3rd straight bowl win stopped being talked about not long after the game ended. Fans were caught up planning the trip to NO and talking about the matchup with Toolame potentially without Broadway.

But I should take your word for how the fan base I belong to and interact with daily feels about the loss right? Please. I'm not saying no one remembers it, but we care so little about it that when I see a USA fan use it as smack it always makes me chuckle.

It's understandable why USA fans still have it fresh on their minds. Their traditionally strong programs (baseball, basketball) are struggling right now, and outside of softball, that win was the last significant win to hang their hat on.

Our baseball was good last year. This year not so much.

I have no idea why we fired the all time winningest (at USA and in the whole Sun Belt Conference) basketball coach mid season last year. His replacement is looking like an awful failure.

If you are basing your assumptions on one game than you better put ULM at the top of the conference they beat us at home with a healthy Broadway for most of the game. A win is a win got that but I put more stock in ULM's victory and that's just my opinion. Not taking anything from USA but until they prove it on the field consistently than it was just a win. Like I said they beat us if they want to brag they earned it but when they visit Louisiana this year I'd be happy to take them on a tour and show them our Three NOB and conference championship trophy. I'm more worried about ASU and Troy with a slight worry about USA and TxSt. Don't count out GaSt, Appy St and NMSU to be improved from last year. And then there is GaSo who doesn't play State or Louisiana which could make for a very interesting year for them.

Anybody in this conference can jump up and bite anybody. Even Georgia State. That's what makes it the Fun Belt.

I think stAte finishes on top. They have remained one of the teams to beat despite all of the coaching changes. Lafayette finishes second, and anything past that is anyones to take. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Troy or USA making a run for the conference championship.

We lost to South? Gee yea I recall that, but not so much as you think. Pretty sure South fans get more happiness out of it than we get funked. But then we have not had too much time to dwell on it, third bowl victory in a row, SBC champs and NCAA appearance, No. 1 ranked baseball, top twenty softball, great recruiting class and bash. Great crop of top thirteen basketball players in the state signed and delivered. Great point guard to probably go in first round of NBA. Lots of salve to soften that loss.

the point is you aren't invincible, you lost by 22 points to a program 6 years old. hence, the championship is "wide open"

RE: Most likely to make a run for the top? - TheRevSWT - 04-04-2014 12:14 AM

If the rumors are true that we have been playing with basically half a playbook due to all the new faces on offense, our O could actually catch up with the rest of the Sun Belt this year.

That's a big IF though, and it's based on a rumor. So I dunno.
