Are you forgetting UTA or UALR?

They keep forgetting about them. They have a vote as well.

He could, and should be the one brokering the expansion. He is the one who could and should provide the presidents with choices they almost have to approve. If not who does these things for the presidents, surely not the presidents who actually have other things to do.

In 2014, we will have 11 all sports Members. If we add three, we get 14.

Its simple Math that is probably beyond the talent of those at Middle.

I've actually always been pretty good at math, but I stopped enjoying it some time in high school. Fortunately I only needed one math class for my degree and "math for general studies" qualified, but even that I dropped once because I foolishly signed up for an 8am.

About the most frequent thing I use math for these days is keeping score in a game of cricket at the dart bar.

My thoughts are Idaho has a great coach in Petrino but I don't know if they will be able to maintain due to other problems

Idaho is too far out of footprint for any conference except MWC. If MWC doesn't want them they should drop to FCS or consider a plan to remain independent like BYU.

The stAte fan who posted this broke the inside info on App and GSU last year. I'm not so quick to dismiss the post.

It seems to appear that the western schools won't go for inviting JMU and stopping there. I guess as a trade off they are insisting on Missouri St. and NMSU be added in all sports.

Both sides want to conserve travel. West schools are not thrilled with the idea of traveling to Idaho every year, while East schools want a geographic partner for their side to offer fans another driveable trip.

Its pretty easy to see a situation where the two sides agree to play with 13 for a while on the assumption that Idaho will most likely drop at some point anyway, creating a very compact 12 team football league in its wake. When you consider that, it makes sense to go ahead and bring NMSU in all sports to even out basketball numbers and work on NCAA units.

I don't think EKU or Liberty even are dead though in terms of East expansion. A lot of that is going to depend on how fast the East schools want a member and how open they are to Liberty. If 5 or 6 schools are open to Liberty, I could see a situation where the East agree to bring Missouri State and NMSU in in exchange for Liberty getting in.

If the East does not want Liberty...than the door opens for EKU.

I am rooting for Idaho to do well in the Sun Belt and have some good teams.
It would be the easy way out to go FCS and drop down. They seem to have
enough fortitude to stick it out and hopefully find a way. Regardless of everything
else they are our conference mates.
