Football revenue questions - FoUTASportscaster - 10-09-2013 02:57 PM

What is your average revenue for a home football game?

What does your ticket pricing look like?

Not sure. Our tickets run from $17 to $33 I think and we average 27K a game. Probably 3K students and another 1K not paying if I had to guess. 23K times say $20 for tickets plus $50K parking and say $150K concessions ($5 per person). I am guessing $700K minus a guarantee if we pay it.

Just spitballing. We get in the $1 million range for a guarantee game on the road minus expenses so a home game is probably fairly close in terms of revenue as long as we keep drawing in the 25K range.

Wait a second 3K in students now maybe I have you confused with someone else, it happens time to time but I thought you said before the season started ASU averaged 8k to 10k in students and I pointed out it was hard to get that % of student to turn out for anything even a free 4 years of tuition give away.

I don't think I have ever said such a thing. Our enrollment is 14K and the students fill up three sections which I guess is around 3-4K. Our student section has been incredible the last few years and the AD has made a great effort to achieve that level of support. We have as many students at some games as I have seen total fans at some of our peers' games.

We did have over 8K for the Order of the Pack on a Thursday night before the season and there will be a lot more than usual for homecoming I imagine but 3-4K seems about right.

Thanks Crump. When it comes to pricing, what kind of quantities are available? What I mean is how many seats roughly are at the $17 range, then the next level up and so on until the $33?

Not sure if this answers your question, but should give you an idea of the "mix."

ASU sold out all of the expensive seats through season tickets. On game days the only individual tickets that you will be likely to find are for 17 and 20 dollars. Since the 20 dollar tickets are leftovers that didn't sell in season tickets, most of the tickets are 17.

Now if you looked at the crowd and counted season ticket sales, the majority of the tickets we sell are 20 dollars and up.
