forgive me if this was already posted . . .

RE: JMU FOIA Request - Tuscon - 04-09-2013 09:28 AM

This looks like old information. Western Kentucky is still on there. Idaho and NMSU aren't even on that map. Are they assuming they left or was it before the latest move to invite App State, GS, Idaho, and NMSU. I think the latter. It looks like JMU and Liberty are likely on deck for a Western Kentucky replacement. We probably want JMU, but would settle for Liberty. That's how I read that.

RE: JMU FOIA Request - arkstfan - 04-09-2013 09:31 AM

Of course WKU is gone and Idaho and NMSU added from that picture.

RE: JMU FOIA Request - GaSouthern - 04-09-2013 11:06 AM

If ASU and ULL are on the way out then I imagine that puts missouri state on the back burner

As of right now, we are not going anywhere. CUSA hasnt even decided its going to 16 yet.

Well I hope we can get a good solid 5 years together before we get broken up again 04-cheers

But I highly doubt that could happen.

One thing is certain I doubt App or GaSo goes anywhere anytime soon. Whatever happens we should always be a package deal. Like Duke and UNC.

We said that about UTSA...

SBC map that Karl Benson supposedly provided only makes sense if one current SBC West member leaves, if you facter in Idaho and NMSU.

2 leaving would not make sense.

RE: JMU FOIA Request - jdcurran235 - 04-09-2013 01:50 PM

Someone should do an FOIA for Liberty and Lamar as well.

Maybe even Jax St since they have been talked about some recently

Yes, only one of JMU or Liberty to finish the puzzle, based on the map... agreed: it pre-dates the adds of NMSU and Idaho. Only one space left on the bus. I don't think we will lose anymore teams for a few years. I think this whole thing is going to take a breather. CUSA would be the only 16 league, and it would be taking a big risk to make the move to two 8-team divisions. They won't make the move until it is apparent that the big boys decide to do so. The OOC matchups with the new playoff format will be very important to determine conference pecking order. Losing an OOC space to another conference game makes no sense.

I actually don't think GSU and ASU are joined at the hip going forward. It makes a ton of sense for this move, but possibly not in the future.

RE: JMU FOIA Request - GoApps70 - 04-09-2013 02:00 PM

Cannot be joined at the hip if GaSo was working with NMSU previously.

RE: JMU FOIA Request - GoApps70 - 04-09-2013 02:05 PM

By the way, this FOIA posted in message #1 appears to be completely made up junk.

I gotta say though... Apples and oranges, there. App State and GSU have a history together, whereas with UTSA we really didn't (in football).

Also, App State and GSU are in different states providing (theoretically) access to two separate market areas. We are right next to UTSA, so grabbing both of us is just gaining access to one market.

Besides, I don't think many were focused on keeping our two universities together aside from a few fans (and apparently Hickey too... Larry doesn't seem too interested in doing much of anything).

How do you FOI a private institution?

Unless you're responding to the poster who suggested "FOIAing" Liberty, this does not apply, as JMU is a public institution.

RE: JMU FOIA Request - GoApps70 - 04-09-2013 03:33 PM

Regardless looks kind of fake, but we will see. Doesn't even say who it was from, etc.
