I'm sure the Sugar Bowl is glad to have L'ville vs. Florida - MidnightBlueGold - 01-02-2013 09:34 PM

The upperdeck on the camera side of the stadium is completely EMPTY. They are trying as hard as they can to not show that side, but they have a few times and they didn't sell any tickets on that side of the stadium.

And they said Louisville sold more than their allotment, so either Florida didn't sell out their allotment, or no one wanted to go to this game.

Now, I'm not crazy, but it looks like it is almost full except for the end zones in the upper deck. I don't know why the one side looked completey empty before.

i think they said U of L sold around 14,000 of its 17,000 allotment and UF sold about 7,000 of its 17,000 allotment.

PS-Do you realize this is a game that features our first opponent of 2013 (Louisville) and your first opponent of 2013 (Florida)? Completely meaningless but still cool on some level! :-) or maybe not! LOL

The seats at the Superdome are different colors to make it look like there are more people there. Its a trick that a lot of places used to do if they don't tarp off sections.

Well, its a terrible game- UF behind by three scores. How does a team in a BCS game get behind by three scores? Stupid rules allow these teams with weak programs to get in. they're imposters pure and simple. Only deserving teams from conferences like the SEC should be able to get in so we don't have these grossly mismatched teams....oh, wait....

And Florida didn't even win their conference! And they only beat bgSUCKS by 13, and we all know that bgSUCKS is from the lowly MAC, the conference that doesn't play good football.

Wish it could've been NIU over FSU, but sure enjoyed watching UL beat the crap outta SEC power Florida tonight. Oh yeah.

SEC is currently 3-3, w/ Ole Miss/Pitt, A&M/Oklahoma, and 'Bama/ND left.

Official attendance: 54,178. The superdome holds ~73,000

While the OB had 72,xxx, with a capacity of ~78,500.

Me too. What I think people are missing is that FSU brought their 'A' game against NIU. They didn't want to be humiliated, or the team that let the BCS down.

Yeah, they won soundly, but that was their best shot. And it wasn't a rout like Clemson/WVU.

There wasn't 72,000+ at the Orange bowl. LOL. The Sugar Bowl numbers are right, having been there last year and seeing a crowd of 60,000+. Props to NIU and Louisville fans for putting the state of Florida to shame.

Yeah, I also thought the Orange bowl stands looked pretty full except for corners and tops of upper deck.....

I am VERY confident that the Orange Bowl had at least 54k in actual attendance.

I am comparing to the 52k for our Iowa game at SF this year. Which was controlled by us...and we don't fib about our numbers.

FSUs upper deck was 50% and spotty in the lower endzone and corner HOWEVER they along with a good number of NIU fans filled up the stub hub seats big time.

It did look like a good contingent of Huskie fans...have no idea how many.

Geez, the New Orleans Bowl looks roughly the same in comparison, and UL-Lafayette fans were a lot louder given the size.

They said the NO Bowl had about only 5,500 less.

Why aren't they saying Florida didn't belong?

They belonged, regardless of how much they lost by, by virtue of people thinking they belonged before the game started. Got it?

Neither Florida nor Louisville handed out tickets for free though. Can't say the same for both teams in the Orange Bowl.
