I'm glad the MAC added UMass. Got to be exciting to be on TV every week in FBS. Every game at the FBS is on TV somewhere. You guys are gonna love the MAC. Doesn't take long to become a contender. We at Ohio were at the bottom 8 years ago. Support your team, show off your gear, attend games, let everyone know your in the MAC and you are big time football now as just 125 schools are fortunate to play at this level. Great to have new people visit our MAC board. So far you have gotten a taste of what is possible in the MAC. We reach the soccer title game, frozen four, elite eights, sweetsixteen in hoops, college world series in baseball and pull off big upsets the national media never sees coming all the time in football and hoops as a conference. Turn on the TV on Sunday and chances are there is a MAC player playing in an NFL game. Most fantasy football leagues have a few MAC players drafted. UMass will be a part of that too.

You guys gave us a big scare on saturday. Not gonna take much longer before you beat someone. You got a real good QB, RB, WR and coach. Defense wasn't too bad either. UMass gotta be real tough once they get the on-campus stadium expansion and the students get into MAC football games especially for nite games. This weekend was wild in the MAC. MAC is like the NFL its any given Saturday and wild finishes.

Defense Shines In 22-14 Win At Akron
For First FBS Victory

AKRON, Ohio - The Minutemen defense forced four interceptions to lead the UMass football team to its first win at the FBS level, 22-14, at Akron on Saturday afternoon at InfoCision Stadium. Along with the defensive efforts, the UMass special teams came up with a blocked punt, three field goals and three consecutive punts downed inside the five-yard line in the fourth quarter. With the win, UMass improves to 1-9 overall and 1-5 in the Mid-American Conference.

Colter Johnson Named MAC Player Of The Week Punter earns special team's honor after outstanding performance in win at Akron

AMHERST, Mass. - After Saturday's performance in the win at Akron, UMass football punter Colter Johnson has been named the MAC Special Team Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. Johnson averaged 44.8 yards per boot with four of his six punts being downed inside the 10-yard line. Twice in the second half, he pinned Akron back to their one-yard line.

Johnson becomes the first Minuteman to earn a MAC weekly honor. The Minutemen defeated Akron 22-14 for the program's first-ever win at the FBS level and as members of the Mid-American Conference.
