odu is still studying to see if they can afford the move. if they can then they'll join, if not CUSA will likely turn to mtsu

I wonder how much time they'll give ODU to make a decision? I would think they would want an answer pretty quick with all of the movement going on.

They wouldn't join for FB till 2015 anyway, so honestly it's not a huge rush.

Supposedly, Old Dominion has a board meeting on May 14th.
Maybe that's the day they decide on CUSA.

If a school is going to move up from FCS to play football in 2013 they have to declare their intentions by June 1st. For an existing school the deadline is July 1st.
So what then is ODU's deadline? Is it June 1st or is it July 1st? With Charlotte putting all of its sports into CUSA in 2013 but not football until 2014 Old Dominion in reality has until July 1st to decide what it wants to do.

I now realize that. I misunderstood the cusa web site. There was a comment in there that stated with the additions they would stay at 12 and keep the ccg. I wasn't considering how long it is going to take uncc to compete.
As a side note they may in fact wait to add more teams. If they add mt they will be uneven, as mt can come in and play immediatly. Cusa has the upper hand with sb schools. Any of them will jump at the first opportunity. They can pick off a team or two at their leisure.

We have to beat them at their own game. If we add the members we want not just need we are set. For the first couple of years it will be rocky. In the long run we will have a more stable conference, more regional, and better conference. We can not just stand around and let us pick us apart bit by bit. That is what happen with the WAC. Proactive not Reactive. We need to think long-term not short term. If we add 2 more members and get to twelve then we are set. We add Georgia Southern and App State.
