Football Then & Now - TroyMan88 - 04-28-2012 08:44 PM

It's sad to think of what football used to be and what it is now...

Football used to be a sport of tradition, passion and love for the game...nothing more. Now its a corrupt cartel full of greed ran by individuals that care nothing more then filling their pockets. They don't look at what is best for their University as a whole, but rather where the money is and what THEY feel is best. Do you think they care what fans think??? Not so much.

We have many lower budget University athletic dept. in financial deficits relying on subsidies and student fees because they are blind and think they "HAVE TOO" move up in conference, therefore they must build and renovate their facilities, etc. **(Cincinnati)01-wingedeagle

Realignment...VOM (projectie) 03-puke
**West Virgina to the BIG 12...WTF (makes no sense)

And then there is the talk of Paying Athletes are you serious (18-22 yr olds)?? 04-jawdrop

This is not what football was set out to be...but rather this is a sport dying of corruption....i just can't help but think of what Bear Bryant or Vince Lombardi would think...disgusting, absolutely disgusting.

But we all want to argue about what schools should be in this conference or that conference...but really do you people not see a bigger problem here or is it just me?

I just know football will not be around for another 100 yrs if we have individuals like we do now running our football system.

Sorry, i know i rambled on...i just see bigger problems going on then worrying about whether UTSA is in the sunbelt or CUSA.

Thats all i guess... Flame Away.

Go Troy...Go Sunbelt
