Quote:Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain once led a pizza empire but has never held office, making him the subject of a lot of snack food jokes but no serious coverage

OTH, Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama organized a community but never ran anything........

Racist.

But he did have an office, regardless of the job he did.

I personally wouldn't mind Cain if he were to go in there to do his job and if the houses aren't Republican.

But he did have two offices, and did horrible in both.

At this point my preference would be for EVERYTHING not to be held by major parties, but that's obviously unrealistic. The second best thing is gridlock. I think republican control of both house of congress with Obama being re-elected is the most likely gridlock outcome. I think that's very likely unless the economy totally craters between now and them. It's going to crater badly at some point--the fundamentals are just too bad for the current smoke-and-mirrors game to continue indefinitely--and what you would NOT want to be is a party holding the white house and both houses of congress at that point.

I predict that when the REAL debates occur...Herman will turn LOTS of heads with GOP voters. He is a polished and articulate speaker and is very versed on the usual "talking points". Mr. Cain is no dim bulb when it comes to the issues either. I could see him emerge as a front runner if he keeps it simple and can bring the Fair Tax in as an issue. If he does not win the nomination...He would make a great VP running mate.

This guy could be the "Wild Card" that the GOP needs to send Barry back to Chicago to organize some sh!t.

You're right that's never gonna happen, the parties do WAY to good of a job with the status quo.

They have stacked the deck against any 3rd party or independent candidate even having a chance. After Perot...they slammed the door shut even on debates. Nothing would make me happier(with the exception of winning the lottery and finding myself in the sack with Lara Logan) to see the 2 party system be destroyed by a grassroots candidate.

In some states like ours. They've actually made it extremely hard for a third party candidate to get on the ballot. I think a third party candidate needs to get a petition from a certain amount of people in his district just to be able to run.

Herman Cain is today's Alan Keyes and the polling results reflect that.

Allen Keyes NEVER drew crowds like Herman nor did he ever poll as high as Herman.

Apples and Buicks.

You know what? Rebel is probably right. Keyes probably never did poll above 1-2% so 3-6% would be better poll numbers.

McClatchy 2%, Fox News 3%, Gallup 8%, CNN 10% for an average of 6% but if you prefer pulling numbers out of the sky knock yourself out. (that's where most of your information comes from)

Looks like Rightmusson had him at 9% as of late April.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/147782/Herman-Cain-Begins-Race-High-Positive-Intensity.aspx

...and I've seen him from 8% to 23%.

You simply discount him using the smallest numbers you could find. Probably because he's a black conservative.

Could Gallup be suggesting a Cain-Bachmann ticket?

How many polls would you like him to give numbers for? He gave you four including Fox! Even if you add Rightmusson into the mix at 9%, it really doesn't change much.

RE: Herman...Herman...Herman!!! - Redwingtom - 05-31-2011 09:53 AM

I just don't like him because he is unqualified 03-wink

But if the R's have a Cain-Bachmann ticket I think I might just explode with delight!
