Recession part deux - THE NC Herd Fan - 02-19-2011 09:52 AM

Will the rising cost of gasoline drive us to Recession part deux? In Charlotte NC gasoline prices about about $1 higher per gallon than last year, currently $3.20/gallon. By Memorial Day it is estimated to be $3.75/gallon. By Memorial day a family with two cars that use an average of 30 gallons a week could be paying nearly $200/month in gasoline costs. Higher fuel costs will also drive increases in food and consumer goods. Sounds a lot like inflaton, doesn't it? If families are paying more for fuel, food and clothing will there be a second housing bubble? Will there be another round of job losses that push unemployment to 15 or 20%? If the consumer drives the US economy, having less disposable income will certainly kill any recovery that might be starting.

Hyperinflation on food along with energy will be the crippler, when the dollar index falls to around 72 the **** will start hitting the fan, I'm already stock piling food.

I'm still waiting for the fundie energy plan to take effect. God/Zeus/Allah/Odin/FSM loves us enough he/she couldn't possible let our oil reserved get down too low - he/she will make magically make more oil when the time is right.

So, fundies, when is the refill going to happen? Or are you all going to get raptured on May 21st so it's no longer your problem?

If you ever check out Vox Day's blog and discussion, you'll find plenty of links to evidence that the militant neo-atheists express many symptoms of Aspberger's. They really are social outcasts.

Asperger's? If you have any fixie riding, eco-hipster doofus liberal friends, 8 out of 10 of them claim they have a form of mild Aspergers, and wear this claim proudly.

Weird is what is it..... "Oh Hai! Look at me - I have autism!"

Wow! a nearly $8 spike in crude oil prices today. Industry experts say a $1 increase equals 3cents per gallon increase in gasoline. So today's spike, will at least for a short time likely result in a 24 cents increase in gasoline. So pre-memorial day prices could hit $3.44/gallon in Charlotte NC. With the "Special Summer mixture" adding about 25 cents/gallon by memorial day gasoline could be at $3.70/gallon. Can you say double dip....

....dude.... We are in a depression. Gas in 10 years will be between $8-$10 a gallon. We refuse to have an logical, legitimate energy policy.

One of the deep water rigs in the gulf is being moved to Africa. Once gone it will not come back, the cost to move is expensive and the cost to take it offline to move makes this a permanent move. Any oil this rig produces will be for the benefit of a foreign country. Drill here Drill NOW! is just one change that needs to happen before energy costs cripple the economy again. On th brightside, $4/gallon gasoline will all but insure one term for Barry.
